Katherine Heigl Blows Smoke About Adoption

The National Enquirer reports that Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley are planning to adopt a Korean child within the next year.

This is great news; what a wonderful environment that kid will grow up in!

“They’ve started filing the necessary paperwork,” a friend tells the tabloid. “They want to make sure there are no problems before they make an announcement.”

Well, if there’s one thing Heigl won’t suck at, it’s being a parent.

The friend offers up the reason why the joyous couple doesn’t want to have their own kids.

“Katherine’s got several movie projects in the pipeline and a pregnancy would bring her career to a halt for a while.”

Of course, Heigl—who is never one to hide her feelings—was a bit more direct about the matter: “I’m done with the whole idea of having my own children. It doesn’t seem like any fun. I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of that.”

Wonder what Josh Kelley would have to say—or not say—about that?
