A little inclement weather didn't stop Katie Holmes and two-year-old daughter Suri from doing up the town in New York Thursday, traipsing through the streets like they own the place. 

Suri kept her new haircut dry under a ladybug-patterned umbrella. The umbrella may or may not have contained a special lead lining to shield the pair from negative energy.

And even though Katie looked a little dour in her Columbine-chic black trench coat, the mother-and-daughter team cheered up their drizzly surroundings with a boundless wave of enthusiasm.

That Suri truly is a toddler of the people. And you have to admit—the kid makes a really good point.
