Two of America's most cherished—well, notable, anyway—musical resources were temporarily exported to England Wednesday, as Katy Perry and Kid Rock touched down in Liverpool for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The ceremony, which takes place Thursday at the Echo Arena, will be hosted by Freddie Mercury impersonator Perry, whose performance hopefully won't fall flat.
Stogie-puffer Kid Rock, meanwhile, is among the roster of performers for this year's show. Mr. Rock-N-Roll Jesus will be joined by the likes of the Killers, Pink, Kanye West and Beyonce.
Nice to see that a guy who's still a little wet behind the ears can rise up and count himself among that kind of A-List talent. The MTV lineup definitely beats some of the company he's been known to keep.
