Katy Perry enjoyed one of the time-honored traditions of breakup on Wednesday—Girls Night Out!

Perry, 24, has been focusing mainly on work in the days following her split from 27-year-old Gym Class Heroes singer Travis McCoy, diving into rehearsals for her upcoming world tour.

Wednesday, however, Perry chased away her heart ache with a gaggle of girlfriends at Hollywood's Bardot.

Arriving around 11 p.m., Katy took up residence at a star table on the open-air patio where she and her femmes talked before mingling throughout the venue.

"She's sad," a source tells Celebuzz of her mental state, "trying to do more of [last night's outings]."

Perry certainly made an A-List effort last night at the Critics Choice Awards in Santa Monica, Calif. The singer found some silver lining in an Old Hollywood gray gown with tight curls and dripping jewels.

There's always the hope of new friendships, as well. Another source reveals that Natalie Portman was in the house as well, without heartbreak on the brain.

"She came to dance," an onlooker said of the 27-year-old actress. "Natalie hasn't been in L.A. for a while and just wanted some rock n' roll."
