Ke$ha: 'It's Cool to Wear Roadkill'
Want to know the secret behind Ke$ha's distinctive sense of style? Hint: It has to do with dead animals.
The "Tik Tok" singer was recently profiled in Newsweek for her record-breaking digital sales. (She set the record for most digital album sales for a new artist with Animal.) Termed the "anti-Lady Gaga," Ke$ha's success comes from her love of being on the (literal) trashy side of the pop world.
"A friend of mine has a big farm in the desert, and she picks up feathers and roadkill for me, then makes it into clothes," Ke$ha told the magazine, "I think it's cool to wear roadkill."
"If I died and somebody wanted to wear my teeth around their neck to VMAs," continued Ke$ha, "I'd feel honored."
Maybe Ke$ha's mysterious desert friend helped supply her with the tiger headdress she wore in her "Your Love Is My Drug" music video. Watch the video below.
Ke$ha embraced her garbage-chic public persona by wearing a "tailored Hefty [bag]" to the VMAs earlier this year. While Gaga's meat dress got more attention on the red carpet, Ke$ha proved that she could make trash look red carpet-ready.
