Kelly Clarkson Gets In on the Hot Taylor Swift Grammys Flap Action

Kelly Clarkson, voicing a strong opinion on the topic of the day? Yeah, we're pretty shocked too, but that's just what she did on her Web site this morning.

As you might recall from way back in, oh, about three hours ago, Taylor Swift's label boss, Big Machine Records president Scott Borchetta, has leaped to the defense of his mega-selling artist, after some critics dared suggest that her duet with Stevie Nicks at this year's Grammy Awards might have been something less than a golden-throated bouquet of perfect harmony.

In his effort to shoo away the critics, Borchetta sought to distinguish Swift's brand of artistry from that practiced on a certain wildly popular televised singing competition, noting:

"This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It's not about that technically perfect performance."

And that just didn't sit too well with Clarkson—who, as you might recall, launched her singing career by winning the first season of American Idol. Taking to her keyboard with, presumably, clenched teeth and a cartoon storm cloud over her head, Clarkson banged out an entry entitled "Wow .....Dear Scott Borchetta," which we're reproducing in full below. We suggest printing it out and taping it to your computer, so you can reference it the next time you need to write a devastatingly angry screed to someone:

"I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why its upsetting to read you attacking American Idol  for producing simply vocalists that hit ‘the high notes’. Thank you for that ‘Captain Obvious’ sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better. I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is 'I’ll kick butt next time' or 'every performance isn’t going to be perfect' ……I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.

Sincerely,

One of those contestants from American Idol who only made it because of her high notes ;)"

Wow; dissed and dismissed! In your face, Scott Borchetta!

Kelly Clarkson's voice might be best-known for its ability to hit the high notes, but obviously it's pretty good at getting down and dirty too.

You guys are both idiots. Kelly Clarkson had it right. She nails 98 percent of her high notes, and is constantly blowing everyone away with the strength of her vocals and raw talent, which is a level Taylor Swift could never even dream of. Yes, Taylor is sweet and funny and whoeverthef*ckcares, but her singing is mediocre, at best. She got where she is mainly because she fits every pedofile and 12 years old's dream in the US. Next you guys are gonna tell me Selena Gomez is the new Mariah Carey.
