Kelly Osbourne Postpones Wedding—So Her Husband-to-Be Can Drink
Kelly Osbourne sure is one considerate bride-to-be.
The current Dancing With the Stars fave tells British newspaper the Sun that she’s putting off her wedding to model Luke Worrall until 2011—so that Worrall, currently 19, will be of legal drinking age in the United States when the pair ties the knot.
Originally Osbourne and Worrall—who turns 21 on December 26 of next year—were expected to become man and wife early next year, but as Osbourne explains,
“Luke and I are engaged and we’ll get married when I want to. But he isn’t even 21 yet, so he can’t drink in America, so what’s the point in getting married until he can?”
A noble stance—especially given Osbourne’s well-documented troubles with substance abuse. Speaking of which, Osbourne offers an update on her own, still-fragile sobriety:
“When I’m busy and not left with me in my own head I’m fine. I worry about when [Dancing With the Stars] stops—slipping back into negativity, drink and drugs. I’m taking precautions so I won’t get in that position. My life when I drink is so dark and miserable.”
