Kim Kardashian seems to be experiencing a contentious relationship with the paparazzi lately.

Just the other day, the normally pleasant Keeping Up With the Kardashians beauty threatened to sic her football-player boyfriend Reggie Bush on a shutterbug after the photog said something that displeased her.

And now, the 28-year-old reality-TV queen and fashion guru has given the one-fingered salute to a gang of paps who audaciously dared to snap her picture.

Has multi-platform media sensation Kim Kardashian soured on the media attention she's worked so hard to achieve?

Hopefully not. Perhaps there's a benign explanation for Kim's seemingly rude gesture.

Maybe she was showing off her latest manicure for the cameras?

Could she have been offering her appraisal of a certain ex-beau's latest project?

Did she see Mickey Rourke walking by, and assume that flipping the bird was the standard method of greeting him now?
