friends as it makes it alot more fun than just running by yourself.I also find
that if you participate in all different sports such as iceskating, rollerblading
or tennis then it makes exercising alot more exciting and less tedious.
Another great way to keep in shape is to participate or run your own sports charity event like a marathon, Its fun, challenging and its all for a good cause!

I know this is simple but eating protein before and after I work out! Even though this doesn’t really seem like a tip, the protein makes your workout worthwhile and the results appear more evident!!! Anyways love the show hope I win!

My favorite workout is running. I just recently started running again after giving birth to my son three months ago. Running is a great workout for me because I don’t really have time now with a baby and work. I can run for 20 minutes and I get a really good workout.
my favorite workout is doing things i enjoy doing that are beneficial too me. when i used to work out all i would think about was when was i going to be done. i wish i could be one of those people who could run and and just clear their mind. since i am not, i have to improvise and think of other stuff to get my booty moving. i first every morning always have two glasses of water just to get to get my body going, and then i try to eat a yummy breakfast ( cause its my favorite ) obviously its hard sticking to a diet, but just counting fat grams and sugar is what i try to do. but back to my favorite workout, it would probably consist of spinning class and then maybe going on the elliptical , then walking around the track and doing abs. i always feel the best after those hard work outs, and it feels good too go sit in the sauna after and just relax. also my new obsession for snacks has become tomatoes with mozzarella cheese , basil and light balsamic vinaigrette mmmMhm
Clean eating has helped me lose 20 lbs and keep it off. I’m a foodie, so I get to enjoy all sorts of different foods and flavors while maintaining my weight. It’s basically eating fresh food and staying away from processed food. I feel great!

my favorite way to work out is by doing gymnastics, it keeps all my muscles in shape and it has definately made me a healthier person than i used to be. i drink tons and tons of water and i will usually have fruit or granola in the morning to keep me focused and full and i stay away from most meats but i will eat grilled chicken salad for lunch or dinner and desert i eat frozen yogurt which tastes amazing and its healthier than ice cream (: thanks for reading!
i love to play tennis which is my favorite way of working out, i definately get alot of upper body strength and we do running so my legs stay in shape too. i drink protein shakes and a bunch of water and fruit and im a vegitarion but i eat fish (:
Hi kourtney, my favourite diet tip would be have a big meal and then not eat after 8pm. i feel this helps me not to snack as much, also helping me to loose a few pounds because im not constantly snacking on sugary/fatty things.

I run 3 miles 5 days a week. I just had a baby 7 moinths ago. Running is taking it off the best!
I waited 3 years for my little angel after battling some fertility issues but he is here. My goal was to only gain 20 pounds to keep my “girlish” figure, I wanted him to be healty and I didnt’ want to go overboard. Well I almost made my goal but he wanted to stay in a week longer adding anticipation, stretch marks and a few extra pounds that refused to come off. My saving grace was breastfeeding, who knew giving your loved one that liquid gold was great for the both of us. The weight melted off and I was left with toning up. Toting my pookah around and strapping him in the front carrier to walk the dog up and down hills has helped to tone my legs and butt and now I plan to add some crunches to mommy and baby tummy time : )
Best exercise tip: every little bit counts!! Whether it means taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking a little bit further away, etc. You may not always feel like working out, but when you do feel like it, go for it! And when you don’t feel like it, don’t worry, the little things (like taking the stairs) add up and make difference. No more guilt, you’ll feel great!

I get a lot of good advice on diet and fitness from my boyfriend who is working on becoming a fitness trainer and knows a lot about these things and from a friend who has a CSCS Trainer Certification and a degree in biochemistry. Their advice has helped me a lot so I thought I’d write here what I have learned from them.
WORKOUT TIPS:
It’s better to use free weights instead of machines. Free weights strengthen the joints aswell as muscles because with free weights you can move your joints around and to stabilize them in a natural way. Some machines force them along fixed straight lines which is not good for your joints.
Lifting heavy weights increases bone density better than anything else and prevents osteoporosis.
I love training with free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells and bars with weight plates) and it’s a lot of fun. My favourite exercises to do are Snatches and Clean & Jerks and other compound exercises (squats, deadlifts, pull-ups etc.) because they work many muscles at once and are simply fun to do.
I’ve been doing weightlifting for about 3 months and I love it! I’m stronger and better looking than I ever was before. Also my butt is starting to look perfect thanks to deep squats with weights (I was told they aren’t bad for knees and my knees don’t hurt at all when doing them although they hurt in aerobics classes).
Weightlifting should be learned under a trainer’s supervision because doing it wrong will result in injuries.
I also love yoga!
DIET TIPS:
Aside from making sure I get enough protein to become stronger from my weight lifting I like to eat one or two eggs every day and/or some organic butter. It makes me feel completely indifferent about junk food for the rest of the day!
The reasons for junk food cravings is that sugar and white bread increase blood sugar quickly for a short period of time and cause constantly more cravings. Another reason for junk food cravings is that the body needs a certain amount of fat. It is better to eat a little more of healthy fats from eggs and organic butter instead of the processed fats in junk food.
Now that I eat a little more of eggs and butter I eat healthier in general because I have lost all interest in all kinds of junk food and sweets!
Also the saturated fat in animal products is not necessarily bad. The meat and organ meats from grass fed animals are more nutritious and have a better balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which make them healthier than grain-fed animal meats.
I got all these tips from my friends whom I mentioned in the beginning and I’d be nowhere without their advice. I know they are going to be amazing trainers.

Kourtney you look absolutely gorg on the cover of self! I don’t think there is anything more inspiring than running with my pup outside. It can be so claustrophobic in the gym– it’s great getting some fresh air, and exercising my pup!
Kourtney: love the photos in the SHAPE shoot! My tip would be to eat more meals in a day but keep them all small. Only eat when you feel hungry and only eat until you are no longer hungry – nowhere near full. Then repeat again every couple hours. Combine that routine with regular exercise and you can maintain a great look.

So anyway… What I do to stay healthy: for food I like to stick to whole grains, stay away from fattening foods, and I like to only have one small sugar item per day. Durin the summer what could be better than eating fresh locally grown fruit?! I like to make icey fruit bars to stay cool! My best workout is the lifting of my 3 month old, I don’t get much time anymore to go to the gym, so I incorporate my son, like doing ballet square while holding him, pushing him for walks, or lifting weights during his nap time! When i saw your cover picture of shape magazine i was inspired to eating health and working out. My dieting tips are drinking water, eating foods with more protien, eating more fruts and vegtables. i also started drinking green tea. My workout is cardio, running, yoga and i stated lifting. I wanted to say thank you for inspiring and sharing your tips with us.
My favorite workout would be Kickboxing. And since I’m a single mom it’s hard to diet, but I am determined to lose the baby weight as well as tone up. I eat 6 times a day and portion my food. I also cut my carbs in half, till I get to the weight I want to be at. But that also doesn’t mean that I’ll go straight back to eating a lot of carbs. I will still continue to eat the way I do, instead of indulging on food. It’s the healthy way.
i always snack throughout the day but i make sure im not eating junk the whole day i love to snack on delicious fruits, now that its summer watermelon is so juicy and delicious! For a work out i ether go for a run, jump on my trampoline, or go on the elliptical at the gym! i love to stay healthy and fit especially in bakini season!
For working out I do strength training and cardio. As for food I do portion controll!!!
My favorite workout tip is to keep your core activated and held tight, whether its during cardio or strength training. You will feel the soreness the next day!!!
Hi Kourtney, first off you are a natural beauty and no one can beat that. Good job on keeping your body fit and not letting yourself go. Shows you have self-discipline and in life self-discipline is one of the key aspects in maintaining your dignity and self-respect. With that being said, my secret diet is to only eat organic foods, a minimum of 1 Liter of Figi or Evian water (I try to have my 64oz), and not to eat after 7pm. I keep my stomach toned by doing 50 situps 3-4 times a week and being a 29 year old career woman, I am always running around. No junk food, no fried foods, no processed can foods, instead of sugar, I have stevia which is an organic sweetener. And lastly, since I love to dance to feel liberated (only in the privacy of my own home), I dance about 30 minutes a day 2-3 times a week. Oh, and can’t forget my multi-vitamins

portion control & working out at home. sleep for at least 8 hours, and drink water/tea constantly. It’s the easiest diet but it’s effective. for example:
breakfast: eggwhites,coffee,cereal
snack: fruit
workout: 36 lunges&pushups 10 minute cardio 10 minute abs 10 minute misallaneous with 5ib weights and stuff.
lunch: chicken salad
snack: fruit
dinner: special k protein shake
Eating a 100 cal snack every two hours has worked for me. Here is a typical day. First thing in the am I’ll eat two scramble eggs with a bit of cheese and 20oz of water. Two hours later I’ll eat a 100 cal yogart and 20oz of water. Two hours later I’ll eat a peanut butter sandwich on sara lee 45cal bread and 20oz of water. Two hours later I’ll eat a some string cheese and 20oz of water. Then I will eat what I want for dinner just watch my portions. The key to this is the water. Dont sip the 20oz of water every two hours, slam the whole thing. It keeps you full and you dont think about eating.
Work out at least 4 days a week! 3 days of walking or running (or your fav cardio) and 2 days of weight training to tone abs, glutes and legs. Eat your heaviest meals in the am or lunch with a light dinner. Don’t forget to snack on healthy stuff throught the day!
Hey Kourt! My favorite workout/dieting tip is to jog with my dog and friends everyday and to eat as healthy as possible. I substitute fatty, processed snacks in between meals with fresh fruits and organic yogurt – my favorites are apples, celery, mangoes, and chobani greek yogurt. After you had Mason, I saw your dedication with losing your baby weight and it inspired me to loose some extra weight, too! My favorite diet tip is to always drink water. I always drink an 8 oz glass of cold water 15-30 min before eating because it helps speed up your metabolism and it also helps you realize when you are full sooner. Also measuring your food into proportions and eating small bites slowly so you can savor the flavor but also save yourself from eating too fast. Eating with your family is also great too, instead of eating alone or watching t.v. The talking you do with your family helps digest your food but is also great just to have family meals together. The talking will also help you not focus so much on your food and help for time in between bites.
i am only 15years of age and i still love to keep my body in shape.I would love to work out during sport as we do it in a group, plus i have the motivation of my friends and my teacher. First we would start by warming up. Everyone would run and follows each other behind running around the basketball courts. The teacher would be telling us what to do (eg: high knees or running on the side and more)After that, we would start doing other things such as getting into a group and having a race; So the first person would run up do 20 star jumps then run up to the next cone and do 20 punches in the air then run up to next 2 and do something different, and run back for the next person to go. This is also one of my favourite, having my peers around encourages me to get active even more, but at the same time i am also enjoying myself. Each morning i also do a little cardio exercises such as running or skipping. During the day i also like to drink lots of water.

I love zumba classes it i helping me so much even my underwear are wet after zumba class lol i also drink plenty of water andeat lots of friut and veggies have lost 30 pounds so far
Though I’m only thirteen years old, my butt is kind of on the “larger” size and because I gain my weight from my waist down, I like to exercise on an elliptical for thirty minutes to even three hours. My elliptical is kept in my garage and I live in the south which means we get extremely hot weather, but I like to work up a sweat and watch TV to get my mind of of the heat. I also do do thirty leg lifts per leg and do a lot of exercises seen in Seventeen magazine

Best workout is with my grandkids, try leg raisers with a child sitting on them telling you up down, up down. Love those grandbabies even if I can barely walk the next day from playing.
