I think it’s important to talk to my sisters when I have a big decision to make. Even though at the end of the day, it’s my own choice, it’s good to hear everyone’s view and keep that in mind when I make my final decision. In tonight’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians I go over to Khloe’s house to talk to her and Kim about considering a natural birth at home.

I strongly suggest to you the water birth!!! It’s the BEST!!!! I did that with my daughter and it was the most wonderful experience EVER!!! I am 22 and had my son when I was 17.. I had a birth plan for a water birth all sorted out but my labour was so quick I ended up having an emergency home birth.. Everything went okay though and I actually have decided if I have any more children in the future (in the FAR future lol) I want to have them at home too.
water birth is vary soothing….. but to be honest it is not…. their are too many variables to think about. prolaps cord,the baby being breched….ect
i personaly had to planned c sections and now hearing all these scary stories about having to be cut so that the baby can pass through

First I want to say I really appreciate the idea of presenting the options in birth. Empowering woman to know their options are very important. I also would like to mention that not all home-births are water births. I had 2 home-births and did not choose to do a water birth. I weighed all my options for birth – interviewed different practitioners and read A LOT. What I came to find out was that hospital births aren’t necessarily the SAFEST. Check the stats for yourself. A “normal” labor doesn’t not always have to include drugs… I didn’t use drugs for either births and it was a truly amazing experience and one that I wouldn’t change for the world. We as a culture are made to believe we are to be composed at all times… birth is a right of passage. Traditionally rights of passage are not made to be easy, they are work or “labor” and the outcome of that labor is strength and victory and in this case a beautiful perfection of creation. For this right of passage it may include screaming (hopefully chin to chest) and moaning, this are the sounds that bring the baby forward, drug free. Please realize that for the television show to make it seem as though that is barbaric and should not be happening is doing no true service to woman that may want to experience a drug free child birth. With that being said I am truly grateful for all the ideas that Kourtney brings to the table in this reality tv show…. showing natural lifestyle choices and child rearing. God bless!

I don’t know if you read this comments but I just wanted to say how nice it was to see you exploring options for natural childbirth and home births. I had a home birth for my baby girl in May and it was one of the best experiences of my life. But while planning it I was often looked at like I grew an additional limb when talking to my friends and family. I think it is refreshing for someone in your position to actively promote natural lifestyles and letting women see other options for childbirth that are not actively promoted in mainstream media! If more people in the postion you are in brougt attention to woman’s options for birthing babes the idea of having a homebirth would make the idea not seem like something dangerous, unsafe or something that only hippies do!

You were right in exploring options but I hope you opted for an epidural in the end!! You’ve since had your baby (congrats!!!) but we don’t know how it went yet (or I don’t. lol.) I have an 8 year old. In a nutshell, I had a terrible nurse, who didn’t check me at all when I was laboring (bitch!!) It was an all nighter and she was hideous. When she did dialate me, I was at 10. I pushed with no meds for 1.5 hrs bc my doc told me to try. Wound up with a cs bc he wouldn’t come out. By the end, I was a screaming mess bc I was so tired, exhausted and the pain just wears you down to the point of screaming. I did get an epidural in the very, very end but still wound up with a cs. Go figure. So, I’ve done it all, no meds, epi, and cs. I so hope you got the epi.
BTW, when my hubby and I watched you last night at the water birth, we busted out laughing several times and at Khloe too. We LOL at them saying how the water reduces the pain. Ya, ok. lol.

I am wondering if you opt for the water birth , just to fill you in on my experiance i am 24yrs old gave birth to baby girl in october 2011 was in labour for 54hours and i had a water birth . All natrual lllllll babbbbbbbbbyyy lol
The hot water defintley reduces the contractions but nothing can take away the pain of giving birth .I would recommend water birth and midwife labour 100% compare to hospital birth not only can you create your own atmosphere for you child to be born in you have all the say and the midwifes are at your side 24/7 my baby girl had the cord around her neck and thats why i was in labour for so long but i was so impressed to see how the midwife handle that situation it was truly amzaing i had a 3.6kg baby and not one stich or cut . And in my opinon i had the midwives to thank for that .
When i have my second child i will defintley have water birth again . I also chose water birth and going natural becasue i wanted to experiance the birth the way God intended for it to be and the way our bodies a designed to handle that type of pain being that it is LABOUR it was a whole lot of hard work ….
But once you hold that baby in your arms ,all that pain you just went through disappears in a heart beat * So all the way from South Africa i am hoping you decided to opt for water birth *

About giving birth in water, here in Sweden, the dont allow that, because when the baby is out, she/he takes its first breath, and if its under water, the baby can get water in its lungs.

I just have to say that a water birth sounds horrifying, but I am curious about it. I thinks amazing that you have different options and more power to you. I chose an epidural with both kids and am happy with my decision. I also did have my 5 year oldin the deliveery room, he couldn’t see anything but he got to see his sister right after she was born and it was the most amzing experience for us all. Congrats on that baby girl!
It is so funny that Khlo was cleaning that lady’s house!!! I am pro-water birth and I think Kourtney should’ve done it! But I can’t wait until Penelope’s episode comes out. Yay for baby #2!

Kourt,when Kris/Bruce went to have their WEEKEND on the ocean, there was that GORGEOUS coffee table in where Bruce was on the couch. It looked like the TRUNK/ROOT of a Big Sur tree that is usually put into a oven to get the BUGS out, turned upside down, and the top as you see it, has torquoise and diamond like crystals put on it, and thick polyurathene or a thick layer of clear hard rubber over it. GORGEOUS..
