Kristen Stewart Was Too Cool for School
And Kristen Stewart wonders why so many people find her off-putting.
The 19-year-old Twilight star admits in a recent interview that she hated high school, because she couldn’t stand being around the other kids.
“I was glad to leave school. I couldn’t relate to kids my own age,” Stewart—who dropped out to focus on acting and continued her studies with a tutor—says. “They are mean, they don’t give you a chance. I think the social aspects, I haven’t missed out on. I am around people constantly. I meet hundreds of people at work. Once you have done with school, you realized it’s just a smaller version of life.”
Stewart adds that her classmates’ jealousy over her blossoming acting career didn’t help any.
“When I was there, I was never the type of girl to be walking around talking about acting, so I didn’t get a lot of hassle until someone found out. I was trying to play it down, but I definitely got, ‘Oh she’s such a b*tch.’ They’d never spoken to me, but instantly they were like, ‘You are so rude.’ I am not rude.”

I think everybody needs to give the lady a break! She’s right – High School is probably the most difficult thing anyone has to go through at that age – it’s so cliquey and political. She made the choice that was right for her, and now everybody is jealous. She should probably cool it with the pot, though – Not only is it bad for her – it’s also a bad example to set now that she’s a teen role model. What teens don’t understand, is that high school is not real life. In highschool- popularity is super important, but when you are in college- no one gives a sh*t, you are in a class full of strangers that could care less about you. And if you graduate- then people still don’t give a sh*t, people are too busy trying to pay bills and develope a pattern in their lives. Lesson- be yourself and develope who you want to be. All the petty everyday crap in high school won’t help you in the long run. Even though I hung out with a popular crowd in highschool, I have seen the “so called” cool kids that are now complete losers, on drugs, or in jail, broke and still living in their parents house. And I have seen the geeky kids score big high paying jobs, and are now driving BMW’s and Hummers, married and now planning to have a family of their own. No joke.
Highschool glory does not last forever. So make some REAL life long goals.

All those people that gave her a hard time is highschool are the people that you really need to feel sorry for- because right now, they are flipping burgers somewhere still living at their parents house, while Kristen lives a life of a star.

I think it was obviously the right choice to drop out to focus on acting b/c she’s very successful now. She can always finish high school later if she hasn’t already. She’s lucky though – most people who might drop out of high school to pursue acting won’t make it at all. My opinion about Kristin’s acting, however, is…. why do people consider her such a good actress when she plays HERSELF in every movie? I haven’t seen the one where she is Joan Jett, so maybe that’ll be where she actually starts “acting.” So far she’s played a sullen, angsty teenager… too cool for school, as the article says. Someone tell me where to sign up for playing myself in movies and getting rich and famous.

The point is- is that she is living a life that only people could dream off- so all this talk about people feeling sorry for her makes me scrach my head in confusion. People fail to understand that Kristen is NOT the girl next door. She is a multi-millionare that has accomplished alot in her life. Yeah, I dropped out to be homeschooled because people were just mean. It was the best for me and I guess it’s the best for her because she’s doing just fine! The only con is being just a bit behind at times but you definitely learn everything you would’ve learned if you were in regular school.

It’s called “school” for a reason; you go there to acquire skills for a possible career. OK, so she’s an actress now. Good for her, then. But different people have different routes in life. Socializing in school is merely a plus in high school. I’ve been made fun in school, but that doesn’t stop me for taking advantage on my education and doing what I want. You guys have been blinded.
