Kristen Stewart Was Too Cool for School

And Kristen Stewart wonders why so many people find her off-putting.

The 19-year-old Twilight star admits in a recent interview that she hated high school, because she couldn't stand being around the other kids.

"I was glad to leave school. I couldn't relate to kids my own age," Stewart—who dropped out to focus on acting and continued her studies with a tutor—says. "They are mean, they don't give you a chance. I think the social aspects, I haven't missed out on. I am around people constantly. I meet hundreds of people at work. Once you have done with school, you realized it's just a smaller version of life."

Stewart adds that her classmates' jealousy over her blossoming acting career didn't help any.

"When I was there, I was never the type of girl to be walking around talking about acting, so I didn't get a lot of hassle until someone found out. I was trying to play it down, but I definitely got, 'Oh she's such a b*tch.' They'd never spoken to me, but instantly they were like, 'You are so rude.' I am not rude."

No, just incredibly blunt at times.

I think everybody needs to give the lady a break! She's right - High School is probably the most difficult thing anyone has to go through at that age - it's so cliquey and political. She made the choice that was right for her, and now everybody is jealous. She should probably cool it with the pot, though - Not only is it bad for her - it's also a bad example to set now that she's a teen role model. You're MAGNIFICENT Kristen - Keep up the good work and pull it together, Lady!

I love her, she is not a phony. I am glad for her success.
She is smart as well as beautiful. I can't believe she is just nineteen, she's very mature.

what's with the attitude, Celebutt? She's not blunt, she's just being honest! And she's not the only one who's had problems with kids in school-remember Christina Aguilera? She went home to go to the prom and the girls essentially spat in her face? Let's face-if you're the slightest bit different high school is torture. I hope she's laughing all the way to the bank now and the girls who make her life miserable are eating crow. Kristen is an amazing person and I wish her nothing but the best (Rob exhibit A!).

LEAVE KRISTEN ALONE, and stop distorting facts for f*cks sake.

You guys are all brainwashed. She dropped out of high school because she was anti-social and got picked on. Get over it. Stop acting like she's a perfect savior because you are all nerdy and identify with her lack of friends and lack of social skills.

She is not a good role model. She dropped out of high school. She smokes. She drinks. She is pale. She is in love with a man who wants nothing more to do with her than bi-monthly sexual romps when they are on set together. She murders puppies.

Tila Tequila is a better role model.
