Lauren Conrad: Gifted Authoress

Lauren Conrad has signed a three-book deal with Harper Collins to write fiction for young adults.

The tomes, the first of which will hit the beaches in summer 2009, will reportedly be loosely based on her own life, according to People.

The main character will be an ordinary girl (*cough* Lauren Conrad *cough*) who goes from her everyday life to reality television star.

"It's definitely influenced by my own life," Lauren says. "The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities."

No word on whether there will be characters named Maudrina or a jeans model named Crody just yet.
