Leighton Meester Declares Herself a Good Girl, Claims Sex Tape Is a Fake

Don’t get the wrong idea about Leighton Meester.

Sure, she might have been born to a couple of criminals, and she might mix it up with her Gossip Girl castmates once in a while, but she’s really a perfect little angel.

At least as she sees it.

Meester tells the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar that she’s so far managed to sidestep the pitfalls of fame that have dogged so many young stars.

So what’s her secret? Keeping her private and professional lives far, far away from each other.

“I don’t want most of what comes along with all of this. I’m doing everything I can to keep things separate,” Meester explains. “I feel like my friends are in a cult because we’re like, No outsiders! I’ve never been crazy. I’m a very good girl, to be honest. I don’t do anything to hurt anybody. Honestly, all I ever do is work.”

Really? But what of the recent sex tape and photos that made the Internet rounds, claiming to depict a then-18-year-old Meester playing XXX footsie with a lucky guy?

According to Leighton, it was just one of the many fraudulent celebrity sex tapes that have made their way onto the Web since, well, the Web came into existence.

“[The tape] is not real,” Meester insists, “so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did.”

Aw, shucks—we mean, good. Any other misconceptions that Meester would like to clear up while she’s at it?

“By the way, [as for] me being 18 in those pictures, I don’t believe I was,” Meester asserts.

Wait, so she’s not 18 in the pictures that she claims aren’t even of her?

She might be a good girl, but Leighton sure can be confusing at times.

In the five seasons that Gossip Girl has been on the air, we've seen one major character die (Bart Bass) and had a few other characters come awfully close to biting the bullet (Chuck, Blair and even Serena). But it looks like the writers and producers are ...
