Leona Lewis and Chace Crawford's Arresting New Video
Is Leona Lewis the latest British songbird to become mired in crime and scandal?
Naw; the "Bleeding Love" singer and animal-rights activist was merely filming the video for her next single "I Will Be"—which was penned by Canadian pop-punker Avril Lavigne and songwriting partner Max Martin—in Brooklyn on Friday when she was pretend-busted by a fake cop.
Also on hand for the faux arrest: Gossip Girl heartthrob Chace Crawford, who plays a significant role in the video.
"He has speaking lines in the video as well as just appearing in it," a source close to Lewis reveals to People. "It will be the most anticipated video in January."
The pair—both 23—met at a party a couple of months ago, when Crawford was in London promoting GG. The actor and singer "hit it off and talk every once in a while and have become fast friends," the source says.
Lewis phoned her new buddy a couple of weeks ago to ask if he'd make a cameo in the vid. Clearly, he was enthusiastic about the idea.
No word on whether he was carrying a pocket full of Monopoly money to cover Lewis' fake bail.
