Lindsay Lohan Is Jail Neighbors With Her 'Bling' Burglar
Lindsay Lohan will reportedly be doing time next to a famous young reality star who robbed her home several years ago.
Alexis Neiers, star of the E! reality show Pretty Wild, was sent to jail in late June after she pled no contest to a string of first-degree residential burglaries with the infamous "Bling Ring." The group of Hollywood teens robbed various celebrities' homes (including Lindsay's) between 2008 and 2009. The 19-year-old aspiring model is currently serving a 180-day jail sentence.
As if staying in jail with a person who robbed you wasn't awkward enough, People magazine reports that the two are actually jail cell neighbors, with Alexis staying in Paris Hilton's (another victim of the Bling Ring) old cell.
The two are separated from the general population in special units at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles.
According to the Mean Girls actress' lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, Lindsay is having a hard time adjusting to life behind bars and even shed a few tears when she got to her cell. However, Shawn reports that Lindsay is "doing the best she can."
The 24-year-old actress surrendered herself for her 90-day jail sentence in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning. Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days in inpatient rehab for violating her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI conviction.
Although Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in jail, she might only serve a fraction of that time due to overcrowding. Despite early reports she'd likely serve 23 days in jail -- or 25% of her sentence -- a spokesman for the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department told PEOPLE magazine that Lindsay "is scheduled to be released on either Aug. 1 or 2 for overcrowding issues and good behavior."
