Lindsay Lohan Out of Jail, Heads to Rehab
Lindsay Lohan has been released from jail after serving just 13 days of a 90-day sentence, and the Mean Girls starlet went directly from jail to a rehabilitation center where she's expected to stay 90 days.
According to Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore,
"She was released at 1:35 a.m. ... She has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center. And she will now be under the supervision of the L.A. County probation department. This concludes her custody."
Lohan surrendered on July 20 after being sentenced for violating her probation stemming from a 2007 drunk driving case. Her 90 day sentence was cut short due to overcrowding and good behavior.
This past weekend, Lohan's post-jail rehab facility changed from Morningside Recovery Center to UCLA Medical Center because "there was concern that [Morningside Recovery] was not a secure enough facility," District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison remarked to PEOPLE.
On Sunday, TMZ reported that Lohan would be entering rehab in order to be treated for amphetamine addiction and bipolar disorder. Their initial report, claiming that she was going to be treated for meth addiction, turned out to be inaccurate, as Adderall -- the prescription amphetamine Lohan was addiction to -- is not the same as methamphetamine.
Should Lohan test positive for drugs or violate her probation at any point, Judge Marsha Revel can send her back to jail.
