Lindsay Lohan: Shocked by Break-Up, Hopes for Make-Up
This probably won’t some as a shocker to anyone, but Lindsay Lohan says she was was surprised by her break-up with Samantha Ronson earlier this month.
On today’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 22-year-old actress admits that the break-up “came out of nowhere,” People magazine reports.
“I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn’t seen her in, like, a week,” Lohan adds. “She, like, disappeared.”
Just days before the couple’s tumultuous break-up, Lohan told reporters, “Those [breakup] rumors aren’t true. We aren’t broken up.”
Shortly afterward, Ronson had the locks on her home changed, and members of Ronson’s family were spotted at a Beverly Hills police station, inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a restraining order against Lohan.
But despite these clear-cut signs that the relationship is kaput, Lindsay, who’s been keeping herself occupied with other activities since the split, is holding out hope that she and Ronson can reconcile.
“I really care about Samantha and we’ll see what happens,” Lohan offers. “Maybe when we’re fully in the right place. And I love her.”

Die Credit Suisse
ist überraschend gut ins Jahr gestartet. Die Schweizer Bank verdiente im ersten Quartal vor allem dank eines unerwartet hohen Gewinns im Investmentbanking 2,01 Milliarden Franken nach einem Verlust in etwa gleicher Größenordnung im Vorjahr (-2,15 Mrd Franken).
Der Markt hatte lediglich mit einem halb so hohen Gewinn gerechnet. Zudem konnte die Bank die Erträge im Kerngeschäft mehr als verdreifachen. “Wir sind zuversichtlich für die Geschäftsaussichten der Credit Suisse, besonders im Branchenkontext”, sagte Vorstandschef Brady Dougan. Einen Ausblick auf das laufende Jahr wollte die Bank nicht geben, mittelfristig sieht sie sich aber auf Kurs zu ihren Zielen.
Die Aktie der Credit Suisse reagierte mit einem Kurssprung auf die positiven Nachrichten. Zuletzt lag das Papier gut sieben Prozent im Plus bei 42,60 Franken. Die Bank Wegelin sprach von einem “beeindruckenden Ergebnis” und hob besonders den starken Neugeldzufluss und die Kapitalausstattung hervor. Das starke Ergebnis im Investmentbanking wurde am Markt zwar gelobt – die Analysten zeigten sich aber durchweg skeptisch, ob die Bank die Entwicklung in diesem Bereich so fortsetzen könne.
