Lynne Spears Mourns 12-Year-Old She Killed
When she was just 20 years old, Lynne Spears was in an car accident in Kentwood, Louisiana, that left a 12-year-old boy dead.
The mother of Britney Spears was taking her brother to the hospital. She rounded a corner and ran over Anthony Winters, who was playing on his bike just outside his family’s home.
A source told the National Enquirer, “She could not avoid the boy in the street, as there was oncoming traffic in the opposite lane.”
The incident was ruled an accident, and Lynne was never charged for the child’s death, but according to a rep for Britney’s mom, “It bothers Lynne still to this day.”
Even though her parenting skills come into question, at least Lynne has the common decency not to claim that the deceased boy is a “better person” after the crash.
