Madonna and Guy Ritchie are Divorcing

The Mirror reports that Madonna‘s spokesperson officially announced today that Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie are divorcing.

“Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage, their representatives confirmed today. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time,” Madonna’s longtime spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said in a statement.

Madonna and Guy reportedly haven’t reached a divorce settlement yet.

Their split is assumed to have been caused by several factors, including Madonna’s alleged affair with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, their busy work schedules, Madonna’s wish to raise her children in the U.S., Madonna’s immersion in the kabbalah religion, and conflicts over Madonna’s adoption of son David Banda.

Sources say that the couple “can’t bear to live with the pretence any longer.”
