Snaggle-toothed Avril Lavigne just can't catch a break with her live performances.
After swallowing her pride and opening for the Jonas Brothers and Daughtry earlier this summer, the childless Canadian pop star has now been deemed "too sexy for us" by the entire nation of Malaysia.
Lavigne had a gig scheduled just before the Muslim-majority country's National Independence Day. Malaysia's Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry decided not to permit the concert.
"We don't want our teenagers influenced by their performance. We want clean artists," party youth official Kamarulzaman Mohamed told The Associated Press.
Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from the chest to the knees. There is also to be no jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage.
Looks like Fergie won't be playing there anytime soon.
