Mariah Carey spoke with Elle magazine for their August issue.

Carey, who was two hours late for the 12:30 a.m. interview (she's apparently a glamorous vampire), talks about her stealth romance with husband Nick Cannon.

"We really kept the whole relationship aspect of it quiet," Carey says. "We didn't want to give people a chance to be like, 'What are you doing? What are you talking about? This is so quick... are you sure?' "

The quickie marriage seems to be working so far. It should stay that way, too, provided Nick keeps up with his chores.

Carey describes herself as "pretty much a very festive chick"—and nothing says party time like photo ops at Disney and bikini-clad romps with sea animals!

Being surrounded by all those unicorns and butterflies and lambs and benefiting from that much gorgeous Photoshop would make anyone feel "festive."
