In an in-depth interview given to Elle magazine, newlywed Mariah Carey talks about her young hubby, Nick Cannon, as well as the demons from her childhood.

The "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" singer said that as a girl, "When I was in an unhappy place, I always wanted to be kidnapped."

When Nick asked Carey to marry him, he swept her off her feet in a way that fulfilled her childhood desire. Mariah met his initial proposal with hesitation, but "he sort of kidnapped me and took me on a helicopter ride. Then he re-proposed."

Mariah never mentions during the interview that part of the role-play would involve her overpowering her kidnapper and ultimately running his life.
