Jealous diva/Broadway sensation Mario Lopez has been named as the new host of TV's Extra. Current host, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath, has been sacked and his co-host Dayna Devon has been demoted to special correspondent.
The celebrity infotainment show returns for its 15th season on September 15 and has been renewed through 2011 to 2012. So Mario Lopez could have a full-time gig that doesn't involve dance practice for quite some time.
Beginning last year, "Hot bachelor" Lopez was the Extra weekend edition host.
McGrath reportedly plans to return his focus to music, and is working on a highly requested Sugar Ray reunion album. You just got replaced by A.C. Slater; please don't prolong the humiliation.

Sugar Ray sucks
Mario Lopez is so sexy. That man's an iron hunk.
Mario Lopez will bring a whole new intellectualism to the show.
