Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale Duke it Out in ‘The Fighter’ Trailer (VIDEO)
Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale are feeling a little punchy these days.
A new trailer for Wahlberg and Bale’s upcoming movie The Fighter (in theaters on December 10) hit the Internet today, and two things are clear: a) there’ll be plenty of fists thrown outside the ring in this flick, and b) Bale excels at slimming down for a role.
The movie chronicles the real-life tale of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward, who rose to fame in the ring in the mid-’80s before retiring and making a remarkable comeback years later. Wahlberg plays the titular pugilist, while Bale, looking alarmingly gaunt, plays his half-brother/trainer Dickie Ecklund, whose own life was plagued by drug troubles.
