Mary-Kate Explains Her Wacky Sartorial Sense to 'Elle'
Mary-Kate Olsen is gracing the most recent cover of Elle and dished to the mag about her most recent projects. Current endeavors include the two clothing lines she and her twin, Ashley Olsen, manage, as well as a coffee-table book.
The new tome, entitled Influence, is described as "an anthology of interviews, photographs, and artwork" of fashion.
Known as the more troubled yet daring twin, M.K spawned a fashion trend called either bag-lady chic or hobo chic, depending on the depth of your love of bohemianism.
The petite business mogul explained why she believes her public persona is skewed:
"I think there's a real disconnect between the media's perception of fashion and the fashion world's idea of fashion. I don't know why I wear some of the things I wear. I like wearing crazy things sometimes. I like being playful."
Maybe if the rest of the world were looking through Mary-Kate's glasses, they'd understand what she sees in an outfit like this.

for such a luxaholic...you'd think the money would equal (some type of) style.
She looks like she's sneaking up on a cricket in order to eat it in that photo. But of course we all know better. She doesn't eat.
shes pretty hit or miss. her sister's more hit.
I think both Olsens have a really glamorous sense of style. Maybe too sophisticated for the rest of the world?
i hate what she does with her mouth. it reminds me of a girl i used to hate.
she should really take some makeup tips from her sister. there's a difference between neutral and death.
