Michael Jackson's Autopsy Results Sealed by Police

on Aug. 11, 2009 08:30 AM / 1 Comment

We'll all have to wait a little longer to find out what killed Michael Jackson.

People magazine reports that the Los Angeles Police Department has put a security hold on Jackson's autopsy report—which has been completed—until they can complete their own investigation.

"The LAPD has requested that the Jackson autopsy findings regarding the cause and manner of death remain confidential," the department stated in a release.

Given the many twists and turns into the investigation so far, it may be quite some time before the hold is lifted on the autopsy results. Currently, Jackson's former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is the target of a manslaughter probe which also includes other doctors. Police and federal drug investigators are seeking to determine, among other things, what role the powerful anesthetic Propofol played in Jackson's death.

"The extension of security measures will help maintain the integrity of the investigation and allow investigators from LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division, as well as our partner law enforcement agencies to continue their investigation," the LAPD's statement continues. "The investigation being conducted by the LAPD has included dozens of individual interviews and the service of search warrants locally and out-of-state."
