Mickey Rourke Is a Real Winner

While it’s uncertain how frequently Mickey Rourke showers himself, the critics have been showering him with praise at the Venice Film Festival, according to Variety.
Critics also suggested that Rourke himself would have received the Coppa Volpi award for acting, if not for festival rules prohibiting the Golden Lion winner from also picking up acting awards.
“We need to thank Mickey Rourke for opening up his heart and soul for the camera and reminding the world what a great talent he is,” Wrestler director Darren Aronofsky announced during his acceptance speech.
“Thank you for inviting us to the dance,” Rourke told the audience.
Congratulations, Mickey! Presumably you’ll be celebrating by hitting up another kind of dance entirely.
He’s the comeback kid and tends to reinvent himself every few years. He may be a screw-up, but he’s a damn good actor.
