Miley Cyrus’ Bong Video: Was There a Cover-up?
The smoke has yet to clear for Miley Cyrus in her recent drug scandal.
TMZ reports that the “Can’t Be Tamed” singer’s team was aware of the video of Cyrus smoking legal hallucinogen salvia before it leaked onto the Internet last week, and attempted to obtain all copies of the video in a botched cover-up plan.
A source tells the Web site that a college student who obtained the video contacted a rep for Cyrus shortly after Thanksgiving. After asking if the rep wanted his copy of the tape, the two discussed possible monetary payment in exchange for the video.
The payoff didn’t occur, but sources claim that Cyrus’ camp sent a man in his 40s to the student’s San Luis Obispo, California-area campus to swap the student’s MacBook Pro that contained the video with a new MacBook Pro.
What’s more, Team Miley reportedly did a similar swap with another student who also had a copy of the video. Unfortunately for Miley, her operatives weren’t able to snap up all of the copies before one of them leaked to the Internet.
In the video, which was reportedly filmed just days after Cyrus’ 18th birthday on November 23, the singer is seen smoking what sources claim is salvia from a bong, then launching into a giggling fit and complaining that she’s having “a bad trip.”
Do you think Miley will be able to weather the storm over her salvia use? What can she do to restore her reputation? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

AGREE!
I actually got MORE respect for Miley, than I used to have. Just because she shows the world that she IS a normal teenager who sometimes does not so good stuf and is just being herself. Because of her I learned to be myself!!
this is crazy! i dont believe it at all! leave her alone!!!!!
I bet almost all of you have experimented in the same way at her age and younger. Hypocricy is a nasty habit!
The saddest part is her so called friends taking advantage of that and filming it.
If you watch the video the girl filming is totally egging her on and asking her to tell them all her thoughts.
I think everyone needs to stop being so judgemental of her. She grew up in hollywood, so at least she has an excuse.
Whats yours?? Bullying a teenage girl on the internet? Yeh your way cool. Just dont comment at all.
Wow you people. Give her a break. Just because she’s famous does it mean that she cant do what she wants to do? You have no right to judge her as a person. If you don’t like her work that’s a whole different thing…
My God, a big of Miley FAN, I read your book until the last song just because she was present, saw the whole range of Hannah Montana, Miley ever thought it would come to this point, what’s missing for you? You have a family and fans who love you, everything she dreamed when she was Destiny Hope Cyrus admired a girl who dreamed of one day and won, no one had seen a girl who wants the life of Lindsay or LILO!
I think the bad part is that they send people to steal people property and swap it w/ a new one. I would be pissed if someone stole my laptop just becuz they swap it w/ a new one dont make it okay it is still stealing. what f they had important pics, papers etc on that laptop. That is a FELONY and it just goes to show what kinda person miley and her peeps are.. lets go steal the evidence to cover this up.. would they do that 4 a murder… yup becuz they do that 4 lil shyt
I totally agree with you! I guess the main thing that irritates me is that obviously she KNOWS she is guilty otherwise. why would you try to cover up something.

Actually, she is NOT just a regular person like you or I. She is a teen idol / billionaire celebrity – that is what makes the difference. She is well aware the cameras are on her all of the time, paparazzi, etc., etc. There is NO excuse for what she did. When you have people / children that look up to you, you DO NOT do things like this. She will probably lose alot of fans for this which is what she need to suffer the consequences.
I think it was wise of them to cover it up if they could. Whoever had the video had no business with it. this is the problem these days with having to know everything stars are doing. Yes, Miley made a big mistake, but we don’t want to see every aspect of her private life. She is human and is going to make some bad choices, we all do. But the biggest crime is her supposed friend posting the video or selling it to TMZ.. .It doesn’t mean Miley isn’t the same amazing entertainer, she is not a saint. People have to understand that it is Parents responsibility to instill the values in their kids and not count on stars, they are just people..we all make bad choices..this should have been a private matter for Miley..I am sure she learned a lesson seein the video herself on how foolish Salvia makes you act..who cares legal or illegal..it’s not good for you. I still support Miley 100% and to haters..think how you would feel if you were caught in the act of doing something on video you didn’t want anyone to know about..if the shoe was on the other foot, it would be a different story. Miley is a young adult now, she has been under a lot of pressure to perform since she was so young, have a little compassion for someone who is dealing with her parents divorce and new found freedom. Miley will come out fine..mistakes are part of life, but it is a shame it has to be under a microscope. Her friend that leaked this should be terminated. I still love Miley..haters should worry about their own life.
I don’t see much of a problem with what she did besides the fact that she should have tried to be more careful about cameras. Salvia is completely legal and she is legally an adult now and many teenagers/young adults start experimenting with these things when they become of age. She was smart and waited until it was perfectly legal for her to do it. It’s kind of the same thing as someone drinking alcohol on their 21st birthday. I’m sure nobody would say anything too bad about someone getting drunk on their 21st birthday, regardless of who their fans are. It’s legal, so it’s okay.
She is a teen idol / billionaire celebrity – that is what makes the difference. She is well aware the cameras are on her all of the time, paparazzi, etc., etc. And yes, it is legal (soon to be illegal) but again goes back to the concept that she is an idol and is setting a horrible example for children of all ages. There is NO excuse for what she did. When you have people / children that look up to you, you DO NOT do things like this. She will probably lose alot of fans for this which is what she need to suffer the consequences.
i dont think shes JUST having fun .
i think shes hurt and clearly shes having a hard time in her life her parents hollywood i mean noone is giving this girl a break
now what she did was wrong but put yourself into her shoes what would u feel ?
How f*cking stupid can a person be to do drugs on camera? I think that she did this on purpose. Watch the video. hmm i think she was to get outta this teen-reputation…it’s probably not the best way but i also can understand her …i mean she has been keeping the image for about 4-5 years now!
*wants
Miley is an adult, a very successful and talented adult. Salvia, aka Diviners Sage, is legal.
Salvia is perfectly legal. As are cigarettes. Would you still respond the same if it was a video of her smoking a pack of newports and giggling?? If there was something wrong with it, it wouldnt be sold in stpres. It was her 18th bday.. Why not experiment?? She’s grown right?
- – - – - – - – - –
grown? well from what i saw she is just an irresponsible teenie who thinks that by taping herself smoking drugs shows to the world that she’s grown up and ‘can’t be tamed’.lol.so you think it looks right seeing her getting high and giggling like a stupid.god my sister is like a fan of her and she’s like 10. what she did it’s just not right. i mean i don’t judge what she did just the fact that she probsbly knew it was gonna leak on the internet and still videotaped it.
how the ef taking drugs makes you normal? i mean guys we have confused a little bit everything. yeah its true that some ppl have drugs for once just for the experience but that doesn’t mean it’s something normal and acceptable in every case

i agree! it seemed soo fake !
MILEY CAN’T BE TAMED! i don’t care what she does i will always love her. nothing has ever stopped her from doing what she wants before, why should it now? she rocks.
Miley doesn’t influence young girls anymore as much as she used to. Her job isn’t to tell people to follow her path and whatnot, she has taken drugs which are perfectly legal which means within the legal limits she hasn’t done anything wrong. Sure, maybe morally, but this is a question of whether she knows what she’s doing, but her actions shouldn’t have to affect the public so badly; at the end of the day, it’s not like she’s ruling a country or organisation where her position could be in danger- she is an artist, and this shouldn’t be that decisive on her career, as almost everyone her age (famous or not) has or will do drugs. Illegal or legal.

well if her father was strict enough to slap her in the face because of her retarted behavior then trust me she would be definitely tamed.
I think she should save her money, that’s all she’s got going for herself, possibly being a porn star, but who would pay?
Miley has no voice, so we don’t need to worry about her losing it by smoking salvia, and she doesn’t have a brain, so there’s no worry there either. Miley save your money, you’ll need it.
She thinks that this will make her lose the little girl image some more. I’m sure shes smoked more than saliva out of a bong before. She should have never been a role model in the first place. Shes not God. She should be filmed in “Girls Gone
Wild” videoes. Its too late now, her parents should have cracked down on her before she turned 18. Look out Linsay!
Exactly as I predicted, we’ll see more of her.
Miley is a woman now and like most women she has a lot to show us what it’s like to show off what she got without her clothes on.
Salvia may be legal but it is not harmless! I know several young people who have used it and had “bad trips”. Most dangerous, one had seizures. I have this from the kids’ mouths, ok, not some researcher’s findings on the net. I don’t particularly care for Miley, and I know she is just doing what a lot of kids do, but she is not using her brain. If she has a brain, that is.
Her young fans probably don’t even know what it is so it doesn’t really make a difference. Just because she is a teen idol doesn’t mean she should change her entire life. And if she was that f*cked up she probably didn’t even know what a camera was. It’s not a bad example if parents teach their kids not to do stuff like that if they don’t want them doing it too
ok 21 and 18 are two COMPLETELY different ages dont compare them, i agree she was high and prb didnt even think about getting recorded, but think about her fan!
I know they are two different ages, I was just comparing the fact that it’s legal at that age as is drinking at 21. Her fans can think what they want, she shouldn’t base her entire life around them
if she wasnt famous nobody would give a sh*t
I think it’s ridiculous of her to do something like this. She has a lot of younger fans like my little cousins, I sure don’t want them to be fans of her anymore. She knows that cameras are on her at all times and she obviously knew that she was being recorded, they started recording before she even took her first hit. And her parents divorcing is DEFINITELY not an excuse.
regardless of what you younguns who feel she has let her fans down, time marches on. She is eighteen. Do you expect her to try to remain a teen star until she is 50? Artists grow older, and fans drop away, but as the artist grows they accumulate a new fan base. You are expecting the impossible if you expect her not to experiment with diffrerent things, and to find new things to sing and write about. Let alone the fact that she really IS just a human being, in a constant state of development like the rest of us – she NEEDS to grow up and out of this adolescent, judgemental teen ‘fan’ base who think that she has disappointed them by making a choice to experiment with something different. Drop away, or respect her enough as a human being and an artist to grow up along with her. She is talented and will do just fine in the years ahead, unlike so many of you pea-brained, self-rightous little twerps who think you have the right to micro -manage her and condemn her into remaining an innocent little teen star with wrinkles and grey hair. u are all ridiculous!
And to those who think her father has the right to slap her into your idea of what she should do – I have been a father, and I rightly would have expected my son or daughter to file assault charges against me. You turn 18 for a reason – and she is old enough to die for her country in the Middle East, drink in certain states, and – most – importantly for any artist: Sign her own contracts and be legally responsible for them. Unless any of you have been in her position – exactly – then you are throwing stones at someone you do not really know at all from inside your little glass house. Good luck with that in future.
Being a ‘fan’ does NOT give you any right at all to condemn her for any reason. And if you are not a fan – then you just like to bully and put people down. Get – a – life. You may say what you like about my post, but it won’t make you right. You have to grow up to understand a grown-up, which she is becoming.
I bet almost all of you have experimented in the same way at her age and younger. If she has no problem showing to the world what she does in her private life we are free as well to state our opinion. if she was smart at the slightest she wouldn’t videotape this since she knew it was gonna leak on the internet.an irresponsible wannabe grownup doesn;t desrve all this support cause she probably seems she doesn’t care that much about her fans. we are not the hypocrites trust me i used to support her every time people were against her but now this is like too much. she is the hypocrite in this case.on the one hand she acts innocent like the hannah girl and says how much she loves her fans kids and on the other hand does whatever she can to provoke.this sounds more hypocritical to me.
First Miley had the photo shoot controversy. If you can’t see private parts then she sure ISN’T naked. The press blew it up bigger then it had to be.
As long as someone is attached to Disney then they should act that way. Your a roll model act that way. Once your free of Disney and it’s legal, have a blast. If your going to do something stupid make sure no cameras are around.
