@Jo, are you serious? By this logic, we should stop anybody who is older than reproducing age from marrying, if it's only about procreation. What's that? Your widdowed mother wishes to remarry at 58? Sorry, too old for kids.

As has been pointed out countless times before, the Bible was, is and will remain a human written jingoistic self contradictory work. It is useful as a historical document, but as the word of God is no better than the phone book.

People should lay off and stay out of other peoples lives. It is not one persons fault that they feel love and are attracted to someone of the same sex. If this is what makes them happy then let them be! If there truly is a god then he/she will love them anyway. This is 2009! Good for Miley!

dear steve - of course I am serious (and you are misquoting me - I of course, never said marriage is "only about procreation")- but I expect that misquoting at times from those who support "gay marriage" and then are so shocked when they realize how many laws there are about marriage that were put into place solely to take into account the possibility of pregnancy and yet they want ALL of those laws to apply to same equally to sex couples -

forcing socitey to apply all of those laws to same sex and opposite csex ouples; THAT is what isn't logical -

AND YES - IF SAME SEX "MARRIAGE" BECOMES THE LAW, A FIFTY YEAR OLD MAN WILL BE ALLOWED TO MARRY A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD BOY IN SEVERAL STATES - SIMPLY WITH THE SIGNATURE OF ONE CUSTODIAL PARENT - THAT IS A FACT WHETHER YOU WISH TO SUPPRESS IT OR NOT AND IT IS A VERY BAD IDEA................................ .................................... .................................... ............BUT I HAVE A BIG QUESTION, STEVE, IT IS OBVIOUS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE BIBLE (WHICH OBAMA PROFESSES TO BELIEVE IN AS DOES MILEY) - BUT , ANYWAY, FOR THE RECORD, WHOM DO YOU SAY JESUS IS???

Jessica - I will try to type better than I did for Steve (sorry Steve) but when you say "good for miley" and defend same sex attraction as being unplanned, are you also trying to say that everyone must believe in Gay marriage or else they are "haters" ? Interestingly, there is nowhere in the bible where Jesus himself denounces any one sexual-orientation. However he denounces the practices by many "followers" of creating rules/law that reinforce human suffering. Jesus was chastised by his "followers" for healing a man on the Sabbath & he then chastised the "stone-throwers" back for their lack of humanity in putting a "rule" above humanity. CLEARLY, his "followers" still wish to speak for him to this very day. Lotta stones thrown in judgement of who people love yet none of which r w/out sin as is prerequesite to such, according to the same Bible u throw around as taught by the prejudice of man, not God. Quote me one place where Jesus himself denounces homosexuals and we'll talk. Otherwise, think b4 hurling such self-rightous stones.
