Miley Cyrus and Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean don't see eye to eye on the issue of gay marriage—and the Hannah Montana actress is making the distinction known via the magic of Twitter.
Though she lost the Miss USA competition on Sunday, Miss California Prejean made headlines this week, due to her answer to a judge's question about the legalization of gay marriage.
"In my country, and in my family, I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," Prejean replied.
Earlier this week, Prejean defended her statement, calling it "biblically correct."
Now Cyrus has reached out to that particular judge, letting him know that—despite her own devotion to the Lord's teachings—she sits on the opposite side of the fence from the beauty-pageant contestant when it comes to the topic of gay marriage.
"That's lame!" Cyrus wrote in a series of tweets that began yesterday morning. "God's greatest commandment is to love. and judging is not loving. thats why christians have such a bad rep. <3"
Later, she added, "Jesus loves you AND your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz hes gay."
And now we know where Miley Cyrus stands on the subject of gay marriage. One more thing to thank God for.

Perez Hilton puts much more hate into the world on a daily basis than ms. prejean did in answering that question--which perez used to attract media attention to himself. i am fine with gay marriage--i believe the states should vote and do as they see fit, but i was in no way shocked or offended at what ms. prejean said. she wasn't hateful, she just wasn't. she was polite and respectful and she stated her opinion. these days it seems everyone if shouting their extremist point-of-views at you in every direction. I'd be much more inclined to have an actual intelligent and productive conversation with someone who has the ability to state their opinion--not their pre-fab politcally-correct answer--in the manner in which she did. If more people could do that, I think we as americans could get a better dialogue going. or we could follow Perez' example and immediatly record a video blog of ourselves calling someone a b*tch everytime someone expresses an opinion that we don't agree with. because that's constructive...
Tbh, Christian or not Miley and Whats her name miss Failed USA are allowed to make their opinions clear. Good on Miley though for standing up in what she believes in, even if it is against her religion.
PEACEPEACEPEACEPEACE DUDES, WHETHER YOURE CHRISTIAN OR NOT, EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION!!
Loveyaa x x
Guys, what's the use of arguing over something which lets face it, doesn't need a debate over as it happens all the time??
LOVEYOU MILEZ
GOODBYE HATERZ
I second that.
Me being a christian understand that what Carrie did was something very difficult but am so proud of her! I don't understand how theses so called celebrity christians can sit their and say gay marriage is okay. I am not at all trying to tell people what to do, because oppsite sex marriage is my choice and my oppinion. God does love everyone and doesnt weather your gay straight or bi, but that in no way makes it okay. Its like saying a dude robs a bank, ofcourse the Lord is stil gunna love him, but what he did or is doing isnt okay in his eyes.
So
So? Most of what you've said of this was supposedly superseded by Jesus' New Covenant. In fact, Jesus never had a specific opinion of Homosexuality.
why is everyone so hateful? i agree perez is a beast, but so are all the people posting smack on the internet about miley because she stated her opinion. and yes it is an OPINION because the bible is, in fact, open to interpretation.
also. if gay marriage is allowed old men will marry young boys? wtf? are you also leading protests on the internet about old me marrying young girls? or old women marrying young boys? nice logic.
Sarah is completely right. Jo's logic stinks, embarrassingly so.
Not only does the bible imply the fact that gay actions and marriages are forbidden, but also the Qoraan and the Tawrat in muslims and jews respectively assert it. Gay "love" is unnatural and against ethics and Mily is too young to say anything about the subject from the first place. And regarding the beauty pageant contestent , well "In God she trusted" and the americans failed her.
That's right! In Leviticus is clearly states that homosexuality is an abomination to God!
Of course, Leviticus also says the eating shellfish is an abomination as well.
Quit being so pigheaded and narrow minded. Jesus sought out the publicans and sinners...are you more qualified to judge people than He was?
