Miley Cyrus Wants an Oscar Next Year

UPDATE: Miley Cyrus, 16, took the time to tell the world a little bit about her upcoming Hannah Montana movie on the Oscar red carpet. And she thinks her film debut could be an Oscar contender!

When ABC asked her about the cinematic version of her Disney television show, she said that she hoped it would bring her back to the red carpet next year.

"I can't wait. Hopefully, I'll be here getting something next year."

Cyrus also added that the film is going to be "deeper, and a lot more serious" than people would think.

While tonight's Academy Awards program and presenters are shrouded in mystery, Miley Cyrus has made at least one agenda clear: Angelina Jolie or bust!

As the first star to arrive on the red carpet at the Kodak Theater, 16-year-old Cyrus stopped to chat up E!'s Ryan Seacrest about her ZoomWorthy dress and her most desired star sighting.

"It weighs more than me," Cyrus said of heavily layered full-length beige number, complete with black and white crushed beading detail, "it weighs like 100,000 pounds."

No surprise she dressed her best, including $500,000 Neil Lane earrings, she's desperate to impress Mrs. Brad Pitt.

When Secreast asked who Cryrus' number one celeb sighting of the night was, she blurted out Jolie's name without missing a beat.

"I love her and she's beautiful," Miley gushed, "she can, like, adopt me if she wants."

At least Miley's mom Tish has a consolation prize if Miley decamps to Team Jolie-Pitt. As her official date (was Justin Gaston busy with tennis?), mom Tish had the thrill of rocking her first serious pair of earrings.

"My mom is wearing her first pair of diamond earrings to an event," Cyrus said.
