Love in the spotlight isn't easy, especially if you're tabloid fave Miley Cyrus.

The Hannah Montana star, who recently turned 16, began dating 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston in September.

Rather than wishing the happy couple luck and letting them get on with what could be a long, blissful relationship, some Internet gossip-mongers insist on stirring up resentment.

Numerous blogs have been running an uncredited story that Gaston's interest in Cyrus may be more opportunistic than romantic.

"Miley Cyrus' underwear model boyfriend, Justin Gaston may just be using her for her fame, a source has claimed," the story screams. "A source close to Justin revealed: 'He's got more modeling jobs since he's been with Miley and is telling people they're writing songs together so her fans will get interested in his music. You start to think he’s in this for fame.'"

Moreover, the scuttlebutt suggests, it may be a two-way relationship of convenience: "After her [suggestive] photo leaks, she needed someone discreet and [Miley's father] Billy Ray [Cyrus] thought this was perfect for her image. They talk up how he is a good Christian like her and he won’t overshadow her like someone like Nick Jonas might."

So who is this source close to Gaston making these claims? Moreover, which news agency did this source make these claims to?

That's where tongues stop wagging.

The story appears to be linked back and forth from blog to blog, with no attribution beyond their own murky echo chamber.

Sure, Justin's picked up some extra work lately, landing a Roberto Cavalli ad campaign with Kate Moss. But can anyone say that he doesn't truly deserve it?

Likewise, who could deny Miley's obvious affection for her cat-walking lover-boy? People can be so cynical.

But, no matter; Miley will just laugh the whole thing off anyway.

i dont think so is just people are jelouse and want to start trouble he really looks like he really into her! i mean i think that any guy that miley dates would become famous automatically i mean she the queen teen pop right now and she deserve it she works hard and is very talented in everyway!! miley doesnt want to have a secret relationship because it amount to fail like nick and miley relationship and justin knows that was one of the reason he is not going to be stupid and lose miley the way nick did! he already knows that was one of the reason and is not like he is walking on red carpet or anything. they go out and papz follow them they are doing normal things is not his fault they are being follow they are not going to stop living to stop remors is absurd! i think they look great together and they look really happy!

I'm sure he's using her!.. She's a young girl.. that's recognized around the whole world.. making millions of dollars with every proyect she has.. And this guys is just some.. unrecognized almost model trying to gain fame!.. What whay to do it is better than hanging out with one of the most talked-about artist at the moment??...
