Mischa Barton to Pretty Up ‘Ugly Betty’

Popcrunch reports that Ugly Betty producers are pursuing former The O.C. actress Mischa Barton, 22, for a five-episode guest stint on the ABC comedy.

Mischa, who has a steady schedule of movie work and has released a line of decorative headbands, is allegedly mulling over the offer for a return to TV.

Here’s Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, 24, and co-star Becki Newton, 30, on the New York City set of the fashionista funfest.

The costume designers really torture Ferrera on that show. Is that a cotton ball on her head?

Keep in mind that the last wild child to guest on the show, Lindsay Lohan, had her Ugly Betty time trimmed down to four episodes from the agreed-on six. And it was supposedly due to some static on the set with America, and bad behavior.

“America [Ferrera] is the consummate professional. So if you don’t come with the same drive and panache…I think that’s where the unbalance was,” co-star Vanessa Williams recently commented about the Lohan ousting.

Mischa worked long and hard on The O.C.; don’t expect her to repeat Lindsay’s mistake.
