Paris Fashion Week went into full swing today with the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2009 Haute Couture Fashion Show at the Musée Rodin.

Front and center at the event was burlesque minx Dita Von Teese, who also attended the fall Dior event in Paris back in September.

Afterward, Dita, 36, told Reuters, "It was my kind of thing. The theatrics speak to me as a showgirl. It is good to know there are other people who appreciate this kind of thing—beading, rhinestone, feathers."

Also in attendance was Mischa Barton, who has been in France's capital for over a week now. Barton celebrated her 23rd birthday on Saturday.

However, noticeably absent was one of Mischa's trademark headbands. She opted instead for a large white hat to compliment her long black coat and white top.

Meanwhile, the current worldwide economic crisis is being felt by some at this year's runway events.

"I think they've generally hired fewer models, and there are fewer parties," German model Yannick Maentele, 19, told Reuters backstage at yesterday's Dior men's show.

"For example, there's no champagne here right now, that's a contrast to last year. But then again, it used to be so decadent, so maybe this is not a bad thing."

One Dior client countered that sentiment, though, by saying, "Sometimes I get surprised, you hear there is a crisis but you still see people shopping."

Some Dior dresses are fetching prices as high as $39,430 this year.
