Morning Buzz: Justin Gaston's Modeling Agent Gets Prison Sentence
TMZ reports that a Kentucky court had determined that Justin Gaston's Wilhelmina Models agent Allen Osbourne will spend 15 months in jail and have to pay $187,000 due to a 2006 conviction for mail fraud. In 2000, Osbourne and an accomplice (Michael Wilson) reportedly fraudulently billed Fruit of the Loom underwear through Osbournes' Talent Services company to pay for Wilson's son's drug debts.
Dancing with the Stars' 7th season breakout out star Cloris Leachman has been signed to play a part in Quentin Tarantino's World War II movie, Inglourious Basterds. Us reports that Leachman, who was ousted from the competition on Tuesday, says that she's starring opposite Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, and Mike Myers. "I have to go to Berlin to do...what's the name of it?" Leachman asks. "Oh, Inglourious Basterds. It's a Quentin Tarantino film. It's starring Brad Pitt."
TMZ reports that a former security guard at Caesar's Palace's Pure nightclub is suing Tila Tequila's girlfriend Courtenay Semel for assaulting him during a scuffle in August. Jaroslaw Jarczok filed a suit yesterday in which he claims that, after trying to handcuff a verbally abusive and "quite intoxicated due to alcohol and/or chemical or other substances" Semel, she struck him in the face. The suit also claims that Semel, who is the daughter of former Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel and has been linked romantically with Lindsay Lohan in the past, uttered the classic line "do you even know who I am, f*cking idiot?...Google me, you dumb f*ck."
Variety reports that director Rob Reiner's mother Estelle has passed away at her home in Beverly Hills at age 94. She was the wife of writer/director/actor Carl Reiner and immortalized by her line ("I'll have what she's having," in response to Meg Ryan's demonstration of a fake orgasm in an NYC deli) in her son's film, When Harry Met Sally. Mrs. Ryan embarked on a career as a respected jazz singer at age 65.
Revolutionary Road director (and Kate Winslet's husband) Sam Mendes' next project will be a film adaption of DC/Vertigo Comic's series Preacher. Variety reports that the original series, about a superpowered preacher in search of a missing God, ran from 1995 to 2000 and won four Eisner Awards.
