Morning Buzz: Persons of Interest Sought In Scott Ruffalo Shooting
TMZ reports that the Beverly Hills Police Department is currently searching for two people of interest in the shooting of actor Mark Ruffalo's brother Scott. BHPD is looking for Brian Scofield and Shaha Mishaal Adham. No word on their connection to Ruffalo, who was found shot in the head at his Beverly Hills apartment on North Palm Avenue early Monday morning. He is currently in intensive care, and brother Mark spoke with police at the station on Wednesday.
Page Six reports that the Manhattan loft in which actor Heath Ledger died in January has been taken off the rental market. The $26,000 per month, three-bedroom loft at 419 Broome St. was officially relisted in late July. The Corcoran Group stated that the the 4,400-square-foot rental property is "temporarily off the market."
80s singing icon Boy George has been found guilty of holding a male escort against his will in a London court, according to TMZ. A jury has found that Boy had chained Audun Carlsen to his bed in George's London flat against his will and whipped him with a chain until Carlsen escaped. The judge in the case says that Boy (real name George O'Dowd) is facing jail time for unlawful imprisonment.
E! reports that Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks has been served with a libel suit. The stepfather of one of the boys slain in the infamous "West Memphis Three" case is suing Maines for suggesting at a rally for the three imprisoned suspects that he had something to do with his stepson Stephen Branch's and two other 8-year-old boys' deaths in 1993. Terry Hobbs states that Maines' statements were "so extreme in degree as to be beyond the pale of decency and to be regarded as atrocious and utterly intolerable in civilized society" in his lawsuit.
Britney Spears' first husband Jason Alexander was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday for a parole violation. Alexander reportedly did not complete an alcohol education program as part of his parole for a 2006 DUI conviction. Alexander will spend ten days in jail, according to sources.
