Mystery Surrounds Chris Brown Arrest, Rihanna's Grammy No-Show
The most-compelling story of last night's Grammy awards might have been the mystery around boyfriend-girlfriend performers who never made it to the stage.
Chris Brown and Rihanna were last second no-shows at the Staples Center yesterday, setting off intense speculation as their stage performances were hastily rearranged.
As the show went on, the LA sheriff's department confirmed through their website that Brown had been arrested and charged with a felony. Brown made his $50,000 bail and was released late Sunday night.
TMZ reported that Brown was being investigated by the LAPD for an alleged domestic violence felony battery that occurred early Sunday morning near Hancock Park in L.A.
The female victim in the alleged assault-- who police refuse to identify -- claimed she and Chris got into an argument which turned violent, according to TMZ. Cops told the website that when they arrived to the scene, Brown had left, but the woman had "visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker."
E! news cited unnamed sources saying that Rihanna was the alleged victim and that she suffered visible bruises on her face during the alleged early morning altercation.
Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna were together earlier Saturday night, attending Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party.
