'New Moon' Cast Gets Some Sheen

on Apr. 12, 2009 11:00 AM / 11 Comments

Brace yourselves, Twilight fanatics, a new king of the vampires has been named.

The Daily Mail reports that actor Michael Sheen has been tapped to play Aro, head of the vampire clan Volturi, in the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon.

Sheen portrayed former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in The Queen and journalist David Frost in Frost/Nixon.

New Moon director Chris Weitz, who says that he "aggressively" pursued Sheen for the part, notes, "Michael's role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat."

Have your say in the comments section: Do you think Michael Sheen is a good choice for Aro?

Sheen is a good chioce but def. not the best. I'm pretty sure he'll do a good job, but I'd love to see Antonio Banderas as Aro :3

I think he will do good playing Aro, but I think he's better as Lucian the leader of the Lycans...He's my favorite Lycan...

    Financial regulators

must strike a delicate balance between protecting consumers and not choking off credit, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said Friday.

"We should not attempt to impose restrictions on credit providers so onerous that they prevent the development of new products and services," Bernanke said in a speech in Washington, D.C. "That said, the recent experience has shown some ways in whch financial innovation can misfire."

The speech largely focused on financial literacy and how consumers' misunderstanding or lack of information about financial products can be harmful.

However, Bernanke also made it clear that while consumers have struggled over recent years, he didn't want to create new rules so tough that it would threaten the credit markets.

    DEUTSCHE BANK 25% Rendite
