Meat is so passé. At least in Hollywood.

More A-listers than ever are sticking to strict vegan or vegetarian diets — and being kinder to animals in general. Among them: Jessica Chastain, Russell Brand, Kristen Bell and Kristen Wiig.

“I don’t want to torture anything — it’s about trying to live a life where I’m not contributing to the cruelty in the world,” Chastain said after being named one of PETA’s sexiest vegetarians. “While I am on this planet, I want everyone I meet to know that I am grateful they are here.”

Chastain’s new menu options have also had an unexpected, positive effect on her waistline.

“I used to think about dieting,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in August 2012, “but I’m vegan now, so it’s not really a problem.”

As Beyonce fans count down the hours until her highly anticipated Super Bowl half time show, the rest of the country — 49ers and Ravens fans — will be glued to the their television sets to see who will come out on top.

Baltimore Ravens fans like Stacy Keibler, will be cheering extra hard — she’s a former Ravens cheerleader, by the way — as the team makes its first Super Bowl appearance in 12 years.

After several days of concerts, parties and charity games, it’s time to take a closer look at the famous fans of Sunday’s opposing teams.

Boston native Ben Affleck has never hidden the fact that he is a big supporter of all of Beantown’s sports teams. But he won’t be rooting for either team during Super Bowl XLVII — the New England Patriots won’t be playing. Hopefully, he will support his wife Jennifer Garner, who has been a 49ers fan since she was a child.

Josh Charles from The Good Wife is a big fan of the Ravens. A graduate of the Baltimore School of the Arts, Charles has even taken a trip to hang out at the team’s training complex.

Funnyman Robin Williams has major enthusiasm for the San Francisco 49ers: he lives in San Francisco and owns property all over the Bay Area. Sourdough Sam, the 49ers mascot, has previously named Williams as his favorite actor.

Baltimore born Edward Norton can always be seen sporting a cap from his home team — the Fight Club star will be rooting for the Ravens.

Some other celebs that should be sporting red and gold for the 49ers are these San Francisco natives:

Leslie Mann, Darren Criss, Alicia Silverstone, Eric Dane, Rob Schneider and Clint Eastwood.

On the opposing side these celebs could be wearing purple and gold for Ravens to win Super Bowl Sunday.  Anna Faris, Julie Bowen, Penn Badgley and  Jada Pinkett Smith are all Baltimore natives.

In a clip exclusive to Celebuzz, Vamps stars Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter contemplate the prospect of eternity as a bloodsucker while applying liberal doses of lotion.

Meanwhile, the duo pauses to consider what it means to get older as youth culture threatens to pass them by.

What phrase inspires Krysten and Alicia to ponder the aging process?

After a friend (Zak Orth) calls to invite them out for an evening on the town, he signs off of the call with “GDG,” which they later discover is slang for “gotta go.”

Meanwhile, Silverstone and Ritter compare the music of 2012 to that of their heyday — the glorious 1980s — while coming to terms with the world of the living — and loving — that threatens to extinguish their immortality.

In 1995, Clueless heroine Cher Horowitz was America’s trendsetting, catchphrase-spouting sweetheart. More than 17 years later, teenage girls are still wishing Cher were their BFF.

But if you asked Alicia Silverstone if she thought she’d still be getting recognized today for her starring role in the 90′s high school flick, she’d probably say, “As if!”

“I thought, ‘Who is this girl?’” Silverstone told Entertainment Weekly for the cult teen comedy’s class reunion. “I had nothing in common with her at all. I thought she was a materialistic, annoying little b****.”

EW rounded up the cast of Clueless for an in-depth oral history of the high school classic. Here are just a few totally rad behind-the-scenes facts we learned about the film — including that it was originally pitched as a TV series to Fox TV under the title No Worries. 

1. Unlike Beverly Hills’ most fashionable teenager Cher Horowitz, Alicia Silverstone was totally clueless about fashion.

“I didn’t understand fashion at all,” Silverstone told Good Morning America on the set of EW’s reunion photo shoot. “I had to do 60 changes … I hated the clothes. I just didn’t get it. Then when I saw the movie I was like, ‘I understand!’”

However, by the end of the film’s production, Silverstone had borrowed more than a few items from Cher’s fashion closet.

“I thought the clothes were so wonderful, by the end I wanted all of them,” she told EW. “I took a few things here and there. I didn’t do a very good job at saving any of them. I was stupid about that whole thing. I think I gave them all away.”

2. Emma? Who’s Emma? Clueless was based on Jane Austen’s classic 1815 novel Emma, but 17-year-old Silverstone had no idea at the time.

“I had no idea,” she told EW. “I’m so embarrassed. When I was done with the movie they told me about Emma. And I read the book and I was like, Wow, Amy did such a good job. I was reading it and I’d be like, Hey, there’s Justin Walker’s character!”

3. Silverstone accidentally mispronounced “Haitians” in the classroom scene — and director Amy Heckerling liked it so much, she kept it in the film.

“The first day we shot the scene in debate class. And Alicia said, the Hate-i-ans instead of Haitians, and everybody started to run up to her and tell her it was wrong. I had to stop them,” Heckerling told the magazine. “It’s much funnier the way she said it. That was Cher.”

4. Donald Faison didn’t think the film would be a hit. As if!

“When we were making the movie, you don’t think the movie’s going to be good,” said Faison. “You think, I’m making the next License to Drive. You think this movie’s going to be just for teenagers and that’s it.”

5. The cast was totally clueless when it came to the film’s ultra hip lingo — “Whatever,” “Baldwin,” “Bettys & Barneys,” and “Monet” to name a few. 

“I had no idea what the hell I was saying,” Faison told EW. “What’s going postal mean? And when they explained to me what it meant, I thought, ‘That’s really messed up!’”

Jennifer Garner has played the sweet mom for so long — both on-screen and off — that it’s easy to forget that the former Alias star once had a sharp edge.

That edge appears to be back, judging by the trailer for Butter, the forthcoming big-screen political satire, in which she leads a cast that includes Olivia Wilde, Ashley Greene, and Hugh Jackman.

That’s right, political satire. Sure, it looks like it’s just a comedy about competitive butter-sculpting, but there’s a lot more to it than that.

What’s inside the dark heart of Butter?

As seen in the trailer (newly posted at Yahoo! Movies), Garner plays Laura Pickler, wife of a retired butter-carving champion (Modern Family’s Ty Burrell), who decides to take up the art herself, with the hopes of riding victory all the way to the Iowa governor’s mansion — or even the White House. But standing in her way is a young, orphaned African-American girl named Destiny (Yara Shahidi), who’s a butter prodigy.

Substitute a bitter butter competition for the 2008 Democratic primary, and you might have the story of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Then again, Garner’s chirpy Midwestern housewife, burning with political ambition, has reminded more than one critic of recent Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann.

Butter also stars Olivia Wilde (as a stripper who threatens to come between the Picklers), Rob Corddry and Alicia Silverstone (as Destiny’s foster parents), Ashley Greene, and Hugh Jackman. Cable viewers will be able to rent it for viewing on demand starting September 7. The movie opens in theaters on October 5.

Last May, actress Alicia Silverstone became a mother for the very first time, when she and husband Christopher Jarecki welcomed son Bear Blu into the world.

Now, with one full year of motherhood under her belt, the 35-year-old Clueless beauty says she’s doing better than ever.

“I think I am even happier than before,” she revealed in an exclusive interview with Celebuzz.

What else did she reveal about being a mom?

“[Bear] makes me deliriously happy. He is delicious, and I could watch him, and hang out with him and snuggle with him forever. He is very healing.”

Of course, Alicia has every reason to be happy; in addition to being a mother, she recently teamed up with Juice Beauty to launch an eco-friendly cosmetics line, now available on UTLA sites and on the Juice Beauty website.

“I’ve always had a passion for living a healthy and environment-friendly life, which includes the beauty products that I use,” she explained, on how she got involved with the company. “When Juice Beauty asked me to partner with them, I was so excited to get involved with a company that is committed to green living. They purchase all of their ingredients from organic local farmers and they use solar power to run their business.”

Alicia, who says she was involved with everything from the colors to the textures, aromas, design and packaging of the line, credits the cleanser as one of her favorite products.

“I think its the best out there, if I do say so myself. It smells so delicious and feels really nice and fresh.”

“I use the Highlighter as a blush and it is such a pretty color and will definitely replace the blush you are using now,” she added. “It performs just as well as any other blush, but it does not contain the harsh chemicals that most of them do. The moisturizer smells so good and is definitely husband-approved. It feels nice and light without any stickiness and still deeply nourishes.”

Back in 1995, Alicia shot to fame as the star of Clueless, a modern-day retelling of Emma, in which Cher Horowitz navigates the tricky waters of life as a rich Beverly Hills teenager. One of the co-stars in the movie was Jeremy Sisto, whom Alicia recently reunited with on his hit ABC sitcom, Suburgatory.

Does this mean we’ll be seeing a full Clueless reunion in the future?

“It was so fun working with Jeremy again. I’m always open to all possibilities for the future!” she said.

Woah, momma!

The most recent issue of Time has caused quite the national controversy, featuring a striking image of L.A. mom Jamie Lynne Grumet breast-feeding her nearly 4-year-old son.

Since the magazine hit newsstands, debate has raged over prolonged breast feeding using the attachment parenting method.

While some like comic Dane Cook found the lighter side of the issue, tweeting that “the kid looks nourished,” others like Celebuzz parenting expert, Dr. Michelle Golland, claim the practice is actually beneficial.

Read on to find out why she says celebs like Mayim Bialik and Alicia Silverstone may be leading the charge to redefine baby care — plus their reactions to the story!

Mayim — who currently stars on The Big Bang Theory – still breast feeds her 3-year-old.

“Different kids have different needs,” Dr. Golland told us.

She added that most babies should start on some kind of solid food by 9-12 months, but said it’s not unusual to continue breast feeding until 24 months.

“Continuing to breast feed after that is up to the mother and the baby,” Dr. Golland added.

The Big Bang Theory star expressed her own thoughts, writing on her Facebook page:

“I was shocked how amazing her story was, and she gave an educated and eloquent set of responses. I would not have done a photo shoot myself but I respect her and think she is a smart woman.”

Meanwhile, Alysssa Milano, Tweeted:

“Time, no! You missed the mark! You’re supposed to be making it easier for breastfeeding moms. Your cover is exploitive & extreme.”

Celebrity moms are taking a bashing from critics after going public with some less-than usual parenting practices — like eating their own placenta. 

Celebuzz parenting expert Dr. Michelle Golland (@DoctorMG) says the practice is actually beneficial! What the what?!? Read on to find out why January Jones, Mayim Bialik and Alicia Silverstone may be leading the charge to redefine baby care!

Mayim — who currently stars on The Big Bang Theory – still breast feeds her 3-year-old.

“Different kids have different needs,” Dr. Golland says. She adds that most babies should start on some kind of solid food by 9-12 months, but that it’s not unusual to continue breast feeding until 24 months. Continuing to breast feed after that is up to the mother and the baby.

Alicia feeds her child out of her own mouth, rather than mashed baby food.

“At first blush of it, we’re horrified. We’re like ‘oh my God, that’s so gross,’” she adds. “What’s funny is that … it actually makes sense. It could help the child transfer from being breast fed to eating solid food. My own son was a challenged eater and did not transition well. If that would have made it easier, I think I would have tried it as a mom. But there is the medical concern around a mouth — they can carry bad things. It’s something that you wouldn’t want to do long term, but I can see a potential benefit.”

January Jones consumed her own placenta. 

“I actually wish I’d know about that, because I would have done it,” she says. “I wouldn’t want to physically eat it, like chew it with A1 sauce. She turned hers into pill form. The fact is, we know that it is a healthy thing to do. We know a lot more now, and we do things — like freezing stem cells after birth — that can save the child’s life.”

Most importantly, she says, “nobody is telling anybody what they should or shouldn’t do. Ultimately, you want to create independent children. The goal … is to create strong bonds with the child. This is about choice. It’s about what works for you as a family.”

Talk about a blast from the past. Last night, Paul Rudd & Alicia Silverstone reunited at the premiere of Our Idiot Brother in New York. Yep, he’s still a total Baldwin! Apparently, the two have remained close pals since their Clueless Cher and Josh days.

The 34-year-old actress was seen on the set of her latest film, Gods Behaving Badly, on Monday and had one adorable accesory in tow! The proud momma was carrying her son Bear Blu who she welcome with hubby Christopher Jareck on May 5.

So, what can we expect from Alicia’s latest project?

According to IMDB, the film will center around “greek gods living in modern-day New York intervene in the lives of a young couple.” It will also star Christopher Walken and Rosie Perez, with a 2012 release date.

Congratulations to Cluless actress Alicia Silverstone and her husband Christopher Jarecki! The two welcomed their first child on Thursday May 5.

Their son, who the couple named Bear Blu, weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs 15 oz.

A rep for the 34-year-old star told People:

“Mom and Dad are completely in love with their beautiful baby boy.”

Celebrity watchers on the lookout for star baby bellies were in for a treat this week as several mom-to-be’s were on full display. All eyes were on Natalie Portman when she stepped out in NYC, showing more than ever before. Not even a parka could hide her baby bump!

The very pregnant Clueless star rocked the big waves at a recent book signing for her new cookbook, The Kind Diet, at a Los Angeles Barnes & Noble bookstore. Alicia gave her pretty hairdo an earthy feel by pairing it with a boho chic blue dress that flattered her pregnant belly.

You can replicate Alicia’s soft hair look by curling hair on a two-inch ceramic curling iron and then finger-combing the curls to create loose waves.

People magazine reports that Alicia Silverstone is the latest celebrity to join the show-biz baby boom, and is currently expecting her first child with husband Christopher Jarecki.

Silverstone, 34, professed her eagerness to have children last year, noting,

“I’ve been wanting to have a baby since I was 2 years old  I’m destined to be a mother.”

Silverstone wed musician Jarecki, 40, in June 2005, after eight years together.
