The Bling Ring – the gang of teenagers who famously stole from the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and Paris Hilton and now is being forever immortalized in a Sofia Coppola movie — not only wanted to rob celebrities of their fancy jewels but also their unmentionables too.

According to Nancy Jo Sales, the journalist who famously interviewed the ring members, the burglars were obsessed with stealing the stars’ lingerie.

“They wanted to look sexy. Looking sexy in a celebrity’s clothes, well that’s even sexier,” Sales told Vanity Fair.

“Especially Miranda Kerr, who’s a Victoria’s Secret model. The fact that they stole the underwear just seems so weird, but it’s not weird when you think about it, because they’re growing up at a time when their culture is constantly telling them to be sexy.”

The home of Kerr’s husband, Orlando Bloom, was also robbed by the infamous gang.

“Stealing their underwear was part of a whole trend to emulate these celebrities. They don’t just want expensive underwear; they want Paris Hilton’s underwear,” Sales added.

However, Pretty Wild star and Bling Ring member Alexis Neiers denied all of Sales’ allegations.

“It’s trashy and inaccurate,” Neiers tweeted when she got word that Emma Watson would be playing a character based on her in the upcoming movie. “Based on Detective Goodkin and Nancy Joe Sales inaccurate information. 2 people who are everything they accused us of being: Celebrity status obsessed, fame & money hungry.”

“No one knows the real story behind the Bling Ring. All of the media outlets have gotten key facts in this case wrong, from names of defendants, who is involved in what robbery, who the leader of this crew was, and many more facts that we will never know because no one went to trial,” she added on her personal blog.

“I can only hope that this movie does not just tell the story of Los Angeles teens robbing the homes of celebrities, because that, I don’t believe, would have much impact on people, as the real cultural obsession with what the Bling Ring would.”

The Bluths are back!

New York City was treated to a pair of familiar faces at one of the Arrested Development promotional frozen banana stands this week. On Thursday, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett stopped by the Times Square post to hand out frozen bananas to dozens of lucky fans.

The day before, Bateman took to Twitter to express his excitement for the appearance.

“Perfect weather for banana grabbing, lunch time in Times Square tomorrow. Arnett loves a good banana and nuts in the middle of the day,” he wrote.

The show’s entire fourth season will premiere on Netflix on May 26.

Elsewhere in the Big Apple, Jessica Alba and her daughters Warren and Honor took to the streets of SoHo, Kerry Washington paid a visit to Good Morning America while Jessica Biel walked her pups with a friend.

Overseas, Tom Cruise touched down in Tokyo ahead of the premiere of his latest flick Oblivion. Over in London, Jeremy Piven suited up on the set of his ITV show Mr. Selfridge. The 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicked off its second weekend on Friday, once again drawing some big Hollywood names to the desert.

Jessica Alba made hubby Cash Warren her Coachella date, as the couple attended several shows with friends. In other Coachella couple sightings, Paris Hilton and beau River Viiperi were perhaps the envy of many, as they were spotted at the festival for the second weekend in a row. (Regular ticket holders can only buy passes for one weekend).

In other Coachella celebrity sightings, Courtney Love struck a pose in front of the festivals famous giant ferris wheel, Gerard Butler was all smiles as he made his way to his next show while Mischa Bartonwas spotted with a mystery man.

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards airs tonight from Sony Studios in Culver City, and you can expect appearances from a cast of thousands, including Brad Pitt and Zac Efron.

Veteran Coachella peeps are making way for the budding hipsters to really wave their freak flag this year.

Yesterday, the 2013 Coachella Music Festival kicked off, allowing us to introduce to you the newest members of the Vanessa Hudgens All-Star Coachella Club: Tallulah Willis, 19, and Ireland Baldwin, 17.

Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger‘s only daughter (who is drop-dead gorgeous, BTW), busted out her Fourth of July gear for the festival, pairing stars and stripes with motorcycle boots and dandy sunglasses (straight from “Walgreens, baby,” she tweeted).

Bonus points: Her boyfriend, Slater Trout, wore a fanny pack.

And then there’s Willis….

Nothing could be less appealing than the promise of a weekend music festival deep in the (hot, dry) Coachella Valley, where the ticket holders don’t bathe and everyone’s off their rockers on heaven-knows-what.

We’ve all seen evidence of this in years past, with Vanessa Hudgens as the Grand Marshall and Paris Hilton as that aging fan who has no business dressing like such a hipster (*eyes Melanie Griffith in her pantaloons*).

Don’t get me wrong.  With the right line-up and a low occupancy, a music festival can be f-u-n.  However, judging from the pictures I’ve come across of Hudgens spinning around in circles, I don’t have the tolerance for such behavior.

In the words of Jack Donaghy: “Never go with a hippie [or in our case, hipster] to a second location.”

It’s Easter, which means time for church, parades, chocolate and scary Easter bunnies.

Some celebrities marked the holiday with greetings and well wishes on Twitter and Instagram.

Paris Hilton gave a personal Easter shout out to Snoop Dogg/Lion, along with a snapshot of herself in pink bunny ears, while Justin Timberlake reflected on Cadbury Cream Eggs and Reese’s Chocolate/Peanut Butter Eggs.

For Tori Spelling, it was all about making the house Easter friendly for her kids: “Any other grown women creeping thru their yard at the break of dawn hiding small multi colored objects in bushes? #EasterBaby,” she wrote early Sunday morning.

On Wednesday, the 43-year-old superstar took to Twitter to share a personal snap of her family: ex husband Marc Anthony, their twins Max and Emme, current beau Casper Smart, Anthony’s girlfriend Shannon de Lima and Anthony’s son from a previous marriage, Cristian, who was turning the big 1-2.

From red carpet appearances to an after-school stroll, the stars were out and about — and cameras were there to capture all the action.

On Tuesday night, Diane Kruger helped Chanel celebrate the 80th anniversary of its Bijoux De Diamants collection, wearing of course, Chanel. The 36-year-old donned a gorgeous blue number from the fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2013 line, complete with black pumps and a yellow clutch.

Newlywed Blake Lively was also on hand for the celebrations, arriving in a show-stopping silver-and-pink gown. The event was the first public appearance for the 25-year-old Gossip Girl star since her September nuptials with Ryan Reynolds.

Meanwhile, it looks like Paris Hilton is having another go at reality TV. On Wednesday, the 31-year-old was in Mexico to film a guest spot on the Danish version of Paradise Hotel, now in its ninth season.

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise braved the rainy New York weather on Tuesday, when the two were spotted out for a short walk. The 6-year-old fashionista kept her school uniform dry under a pink raincoat, while Holmes sported a comfy gray sweater over black tights and ankle boots.

In other star sightings, Bruce Willis looked warm and bundled up on the set of Red 2 in Paris, France, while Milla Jovovich kept things casual at a local pumpkin patch in Los Angeles.
