Gus Van Sant, the man behind such critically acclaimed films as My Own Private Idaho and Milk, is looking to direct 50 Shades of Grey next.

So claim sources for The Wrap, anyway, who on Tuesday revealed that the 60-year-old director went ahead and shot a scene from the novel starring Magic Mike actor Alex Pettyfer.

The scene, which was shot as an audition of sorts, depicts a pivotal moment from the book, in which protagonist Anastasia Steele loses her virginity to Christian Grey. Pettyfer, obviously, played the role of Grey; the actress who played Steele remains unknown. (Wouldn’t it be neat if it was Alison Pill?)

Whatever comes out of this, if anything, remains a mystery; the film, based on the kinky EL James trilogy my mother read and subsequently described to me last year, is still a ways away from going into actual production.

Still, it’s an interesting turn of events, and may give a little hope to those looking for someone to turn a mainstream novel into something a little more artistic.

But then again, we all said that about Bill Condon directing Breaking Dawn, and, well, yeah.

It’s a new house — and a new start — for Dianna Agron.

The Glee star just moved out of the rental she called home for almost two years in West Hollywood, Calif. — and she’s leaving all her baggage behind, a source told Celebuzz.

“She just bought a house,” the insider said. “And she left all the bad memories in the past, especially those of her exes, Alex Pettyfer and Sebastian Stan.”

Agron’s former digs — a three-bedroom, old Hollywood, gated abode that’s just seconds away from the famous Sunset Strip — rents for $8,500 a month.

It features a stunning chef’s kitchen with marble and granite countertops, high ceilings, French doors, spa-like bathrooms, and a master suite.

But all the furniture that made it home is staying right where it is.

“Alex and Sebastian spent a lot of time in the house with Dianna,” said the insider. “But now that her life is moving forward in a positive direction, she doesn’t want to bring any of the furniture with her — or any of the memories. She wants to put the past in the past.”

The 26-year-old actress dated Pettyfer, 22, after they met on the set of I Am Number Four in 2010; they split in early 2011. She then hooked up with Once Upon A Time hunk Stan, 29; they went their separate ways in December 2011.

Most recently, Agron has been spotted recently with director Henry Joost.

Agron moved out of West Hollywood rental just before Dec. 1. She isn’t the only famous face to have lived there: Lindsay Lohan and Liza Minnelli have also called it “home.”

Raunchy rocker Pink thrilled fans by flashing her underwear on The Ellen Degeneres Show this week, but she isn’t the only celebrity to have stripped on the daytime talk show.

We don’t know what it is about the playful host which makes her guests want to strip down, but Celebuzz has noticed that it’s a regular occurrence on her set.

From Pamela Anderson to Mario Lopez and Ashton Kutcher to Sheryl Crow, Hollywood’s hottest are lining up to take it off on national TV.

So what makes them want to peel back the layers?

Kutcher is the only celebrity to bare all. His manhood had to be pixelated out for his skit. The stark image was being used to promote his show Two and a Half Men.

While it seemed appropriate for Lopez — who was promoting his new line of underwear — to show off his briefs, for others there wasn’t such a good reason.

As former Baywatch babe Anderson, she simply couldn’t wait to strut her stuff in a teeny tiny bikini. Why? To play volleyball with Olympians Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.

Meanwhile, poor Alex Pettyfer fell for DeGeneres’ prank when he appeared on the show, stripping down because the host told him all first-timers had to take their shirt soff.

He did it in Magic Mike, now he’s doing it on the set of The Butler.

Alex Pettyfer, 22, was photographed without shirt on the set of the Lee Daniels directed film about a White House butler served eight American Presidents over the course of three decades.

Sporting some scruffy long side burns, facial hair and showcasing his tattoos — a celtic cross on his chest and “what goes around, comes around” on his bicep — the English actor/model looked a picture of seriousness on set.

Pettyfer plays Thomas Westfall in the star-studded film, whose cast includes everyone from Mariah Carey to Oprah Winfrey and even comedian Robin Williams.

Pettyfer doesn’t mind showing some skin — and we have exclusive photos to prove it.

Recently, he was seen lifting up his shirt to show photographers his abs of steel while out go-karting with friends in Burbank, Calif.

As Celebuzz previously reported, Pettyfer will also appear in the upcoming Nick Cassavetes’ film, Cali.

He was to star alongside Kristen Stewart in the flick, however the actress dropped out amid her cheating scandal with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

It is being speculated that Amber Heard from The Rum Diaries will be talking her place.

The indie drama features a couple who sell a fake snuff film and disappear with the cash only to have to come back years later to save her sister from some tough and unsavory characters.

Stewart had told Celebuzz at Comic-Con that she’d be hitting the gym hard for the role — so we can safely assume that we will be seeing a lot more of Pettyfer… again.

Alex Pettyfer is feeling the need for speed.

The Magic Mike star and a few pals headed to a track in Burbank, Calif., on Monday for a few rounds of go-cart racing. There, the star showed off his driving skills — and some killer abs.

So does the hunky star have a future career as a race car driver?

The blonde Brit clearly meant business, reserving the entire track for three hours of fun, and his winning streak indeed proved acting isn’t his only talent.

Looking mighty fine in his crash helmet, the now-bearded Pettyfer stripped down (sort of), lifting up his white t-shirt to reveal his toned torso for photographers.

Perhaps, Pettyfer, 22, was just blowing off some steam — or mending a broken heart. The actor has been plagued by reports of a split from model/actress Riley Keough,23; rumors have also swirled that he cheated on Keough, granddaughter of the late Elvis Presley, with lingerie model Chelsea Heath.

Heath vehemently denies the claims.

Pettyfer had been dating Keough for almost 10 months. Several reports in March claimed the two were engaged, though neither of them ever confirmed the rumor.

Pettyfer, meanwhile, still has a serious connection to another past flame: he has the initials of Emma Roberts tattooed on his wrist, as well as her name on his ring finger.

Variety is reporting that Magic Mike star Alex Pettyfer is in final negotiations to star alongside Kristen Stewart in the upcoming film Cali.

Pettyfer, 22, would play Stewart’s love interest in Nick Cassavetes’ gritty action flick.

Celebuzz talked to Stewart at Comic-Con and got an update  on the project…

“I’m talking to Nick every day — we’re still figuring some stuff out,” Stewart told us. “I will be hitting the gym. Hard.”

Cali is about a couple (Stewart and Pettyfer) who sell a fake snuff film and disappear with a bunch of cash. Years later, Stewart’s character must return to save her younger sister.

Stewart, of course, now has other things on her mind: on Wednesday, she admitted to engaging in a fling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, 41.

The actress issued a heartfelt statement to PEOPLE magazine, in which she said: “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected.”

Sanders, meanwhile, offered his own mea culpa, saying, “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.”

Alex Pettyfer went a little overboard to get his rock hard bod ready for Magic Mike, revealing he gained 27lbs while training for the stripper role.

The actor, 22, told Men’s Health UK that after being asked to “put on a bit of weight” for the film, he hit the gym for weeks, admitting: “I started off at 169 lbs. and went up to 196 lbs. They told me I was too big, so in the end I had to take it back down to 185 lbs.”

“It was hard, particularly at the start, and I still remember not wanting to be in the gym. That’s why I don’t want to train at the moment.”

Pettyfer may love showing off his stripper moves on camera, but now he’s ready to get behind the camera.

The British actor — who is currently engaged to Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, 23 — is focused on furthering his film career.

“I’m very ambitious. I live in reality but I have dreams I want to fulfill,” he said.

“I want to be a director, and I’ve already started my own production company. But I also have a measure of success that I keep to myself. It’s something very personal to me.”

Magic Mike has gotten ladies everywhere dreaming of getting a chance to get up close and personal with its stars — with the exception of Channing Tatum’s former costar, Jess McNamee.

While McNamee, 27, loved working alongside the 32-year-old in The Vow, the Australian actress says she’s glad she wasn’t working with the hunky actor again in his new movie, based loosely on Tatum’s past as a male stripper.

“Maybe not so much,” she told Celebuzz when we asked her if she’d rather be in Magic Mike than The Vow. “I probably would have to get my gear off.”

However, McNamee has another good reason to sit in the sidelines.

“I have seen Magic Mike and I was happy enough to see it. I like to perv from afar,” she joked.

McNamee, who’s also good friends with Magic Mike’s Alex Pettyfer, 22, tells us that she can’t choose between the onscreen eye candy.

“I’m not making that decision,” she said of choosing between Tatum and Pettyfer as the hottest Magic Mike star. “I’m not going [there]. They are both great, they are both great dancers.”

Tatum’s new movie is expected to make a massive $42 million by the end of this weekend.

Magic Mike isn’t hitting theaters until June 29, but Celebuzz wanted to do a little something special to celebrate the exquisite male cast leading up to it’s release.

That’s right, for the next four weeks, we’ll be bringing you Magic Mike Mondays, where we’ll highlight the hotness of each male member of the cast! First up is British hunk Alex Pettyfer. In the Steven Soderbergh-directed film that’s all about the world male stripping, the 22-year-old I Am Number Four actor plays a character named “The Kid” who is the protege of the elusive Magic Mike (Channing Tatum).

So, how does Pettyfer’s character get mixed up with the likes of male strippers?

Thanks to our detective skills (and watching the UK trailer multiple times), we’ve come to conclude that the two meet through a construction job. Then, being the nice guy that he is, Tatum’s character takes “The Kid” under his wing and shows him the ropes of stripping — where the two become BFFs. However, things get a little awkward after Magic Mike falls for “The Kid’s” sister, played by newcomer Cody Horn.

It’s raining (even more) men!

About a month ago, we finally got a first look at Magic Mike‘s trailer, and now, we’re getting an even better glimpse into the world of male stripping as brought to life by Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, and crew. Loosely based on 32-year-old Channing’s past as a male stripper, Magic Mike (directed by Oscar-winning Steven Soderbergh), in the second trailer for the film, we get to see more skin, more dance moves and most importantly — more thongs!

We’re so in love with this trailer that we not only are providing the video for you, but we broke down the sexiest, most magic-al moments in photo form as well.

On Wednesday we finally got our first look at Magic Mike, the film loosely based on Channing Tatum‘s life, and we have to say, it did not disappoint!

Sure, the movie looks like it has heart, great acting and will be much more than just a “stripper” movie but let’s be honest — most of us will be heading to theaters to see the sexy cast take it all off on the big screen! With a line-up of some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, the trailer boasts Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey all shirtless, of course!

We’re defnitely guilty of watching the trailer more than once, so we thought we’d break down its sexiest moments in photo form for your viewing pleasure.

Are these two young stars ready to tie the knot?

According to Us Weekly, Magic Mike stars Alex Pettyfer and Riley Keough are getting hitched! The pair was seen dining at Le Petit Four in LA recently, where Riley (the granddaughter of Elvis Presely and daughter of Lisa Marie) was seen sporting an emerald sparkler on her left ring finger. Also, paps spotted some ink on Alex’s left hand finger as well. A nod to their relationship and impending nuptials, perhaps?

This couple is pretty low key, so it might be awhile before we know for sure!

Celebuzz has reached out to each star’s reps for comment, but have yet to hear back.

Before dating Riley, 22, Alex, 21, was attached to his I Am Number Four co-star Dianna Agron.

The two met last summer while filming Magic Mike, (based on Channing Tatum‘s past as a male stripper) which hits theaters on June 29.

This Tuesday is a huge day for Gleeks everywhere as the show’s Valentine’s Day special debuts on TV. Tonight, the cast is set to cover treasured love songs including Whitney Houston‘s “I Will Always Love You” and Gym Class Heroes‘ “Stereo Hearts.”

Channing and Alex stripped down in Los Angeles while shooting the Steven Soderbergh film, which revolves around the male stripping industry. And here’s a fun fact: Magic Mike is loosely based on Channing’s former job as an adult dancer. Channing and Alex aren’t the only hotties showing skin in the flick: keep an eye out for Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello.

Alex will play a character who gets mixed up in the world of male stripping and hustling to get by. McConaughey will play a former stripper who now owns the club where this slew of sexy men take it all off. 

Director Soderbergh commented on doing the film with Channing, telling Deadline, “When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It’s sexy, funny and shocking. We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track.”

Without overselling it, Magic Mike may just turn out to be the hottest movie of all time.

Case in point? The first shots from the set just hit today, and Alex Pettyfer is already walking around shirtless in boxer briefs. Win! 

The 21-year-old hottie kept it simple, he wore little else besides a pair of tennis shoes. Why can’t more films be this free-spirited on set?

The actor appears to show a brief moment of modesty by zipping his hoodie up, but really, that’s just part of the tease.

Magic Mike is loosely based on Channing Tatum‘s stripping past. Chan will appear in the film as well, along with super studs Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer. 

Although the movie won’t see theaters until next year, as long as the hot boy parade continues we’re not complaining! 

When we heard that they were making a movie based on Channing Tatum‘s stripping past starring Alex Pettyfer, we were intrigued. But now that Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello have all (pretty much) joined the cast, we’re ready to get in line for our tickets!

In the Steven Soderbergh directed flick, (scheduled for a 2012 release), Alex will play a character who gets mixed up in the world of male stripping and hustling to get by. McConaughey will play a former stripper who now owns the club where this slew of sexy men take it all off.

Obviously, there is an abundance of studly gentlemen who will star in this film, but can you think of a cast better than this?

The first film that came to mind for us was The Outsiders, a dramatic 80s film that features vintage hotties such as Rob Lowe and Ralph Macchio.

And let us not forget about the holy grail of hot men on film — Ocean’s Eleven. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon?! We’re still swooning 10 years later.

We’re feeling a little torn though. The Outsiders has the whole “hot brat pack” 80s thing going on, while Ocean’s Eleven is all about the silver foxes/oldies but goodies. However, we have a feeling Magic Mike could trump those considering these men will spend a majority of their time on screen wearing next to nothing (at least, we hope!)
