Despite the Yankee slugger’s kind words for his ex-girlfriend, 39, he has no plans to reconcile — or settle down for that matter.

When asked about marriage, the divorced Yankee slugger, 36, said, “I’m not sure. I think my new hero is George Clooney.”

“He’s my new role model,” he says of Clooney, who is currently dating Stacy Keibler. “I think he’s done it right.”

“There’s nothing to address with this story,” Rodriguez told The New York Post in Tampa, Florida, at the team’s spring training base.

As Celebuzz first reported, Major League Baseball has said it will investigate crooked hedge fund manager Bradley Ruderman’s admission, under oath in a deposition at a prison in Taft, Calif., on Thursday, that he played against A-Rod, 36.

“Like all situations, when we receive new information we investigate,” said MLB spokesman Pat Courtney.

Ruderman embezzled $25 million of his clients’ money and used $5.2 million of it to pay off monster poker debts to a slew of high-profile Hollywood identities, including Maguire and The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes.

Major League Baseball is looking into a convicted fraudster’s stunning confession that the oft-controversial Yankees slugger played in the same high-stakes tournaments that included celebrities Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

As Celebuzz first revealed, Bradley Ruderman — a jailed hedge fund manager who embezzled $25 million of his clients’ money and used $5.2 million of it to pay off gambling debts — used a deposition at a prison in Taft, Calif., on Thursday to admit that he played against Rodriquez, 36. 

“Like all situations, when we receive new information we investigate,” MLB spokesman Pat Courtney told Celebuzz.

Last year, MLB investigators grilled Rodriguez — but did not punish him — when claims surfaced that A-Rod played in the private games.

Initially, the star’s spokesman, Richard Rubenstein, denied that the Yankee played in any of the games connected to the crooked Ponzi mastermind, who used his clients’ millions to pay off players including Maguire and The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes.

“Mr. Rodriguez has not participated in these poker games,” Rubenstein said.

However, multiple eyewitnesses at the game confirmed that Rodriguez was involved, albeit his participation was limited.

When confronted with specific evidence about the games he played in, Rubenstein, at the time, refused to comment further beyond saying: “I am not prepared to comment any further about alleged sightings.” 

He has not yet responded to Ruderman’s confession.

Speaking exclusively to Celebuzz, high-profile Hollywood lawyer Ronald Richards, who was at the jailhouse deposition, confirmed the fraudster “testified and confirmed for the first time under oath that Alex Rodriquez played in one of the games.”

“He (Ruderman) acknowledged that was the one who brought him into the game and that he played with A-Rod,” Richard said.

In an exclusive statement, leading Hollywood-based lawyer Ronald Richards — who represents a number of defendants being sued to recover Ruderman’s poker losses — told Celebuzz: “I will confirm that Ruderman testified and confirmed for the first time under oath that Alex Rodriquez played in one of the games.”

The deposition was conducted Thursday at a prison in Taft, Calif., as part of the court appointed trustees’ case against Richards’ clients and others.

The sensational development comes seven months after Major League Baseball officials interviewed the Yankees third baseman about claims that he played in high stakes private games that were frequented by A-Listers, including actor Tobey Maguire.

“He (Ruderman) acknowledged that Maguire was the one who brought him into the game and that he played with A-Rod,” added Richards, who participated in the questioning.

The league decided not to suspend Rodriguez, 36, last August.

In November, 36-year-old Maguire, who generated a reputed income of $25 million per film as Spiderman, settled a lawsuit that sought repayment of hundreds of thousands of dollars he allegedly won in the top secret games at Beverly Hills luxury hotels.

Celebuzz is seeking comment from Rodriquez and the MLB.

Previously, the slugger had been admonished by baseball’s top brass for his gambling and vowed to stop.

Ruderman is jailed until 2018 on two counts of wire fraud and two counts of investment adviser fraud.

Now that these two are officially over, who do you think they should hook up with next?

“They broke up recently,” the magazine’s source said of the power couple. “She’s very busy with her career and he’s had injuries and wants to focus on his game. They’re dedicated professionals.”

So was the break up amicable?

According to Us Weekly‘s source it was. “They’re still very friendly and like each other. He has an enormous amount of respect for each other.”

This has definitely been a summer of love for C & A. 

Meanwhile, A-Rod kept his shirt on for the boating trip, wearing a white polo top, a visor and blue trunks. Back in June, Cameron opened up about her relationship with the ball player, even using the L-word!

She explained on Late Show with David Letterman how she managed to be spotted on the jumbo-tron at the Super Bowl feeding A-Rod popcorn, saying: 

“We were watching the game, and I was eating, and I was getting down to, like, the last couple pieces of popcorn, and all of a sudden, I see a hand coming in. And I’m like – anybody who knows me does not put their hand in my food, especially when it’s close to my mouth. And I said, ‘What are you…?’ And then I went, ‘You know what? I love you too much, I’m going to give it to you. You deserve it.’”

Oh, and if you didn’t think Diaz was already chill, she says the fact she’s dating a fellow superstar doesn’t make her less shy while out around fans:

“I’m so blessed to be doing what I do, it’s a privilege to make movies, and when people want to say hello to me I’m happy to say hello to them!”

The Yankees stud and Bad Teacher actress looked happy and in love — showing subtle PDA as the paparazzi snapped away. Cameron wrapped her arms around her beau, as he stroked her hair. After they got their caffeine fix, the two took off on a private jet. Looks like they have a romantic week ahead of them.

Cameron had a busy weekend — hitting up the MTV Movie Awards and then the afterparty at Soho House, where Alex joined her. The two were looking very much together as they partied the night away.

The actress laughed off the break-up rumors, telling Extra:

“If I want to read gossip, I read about somebody else’s life. I can’t worry about what other people say. It’s fine to say whatever you want as long as you actually don’t know what’s going on in my life.”

The blonde bombshell is on the June cover of Maxim and in her Bad Teacher themed photo shoot, she talks about everything from her views on marriage to boyfriend Alex Rodriguez… and it doesn’t sound like the two will mix.

“I love men more than anything. I want all men to be happy and have rad women in their lives, but guys need women who challenge them and don’t let them get away with their s–t,” Diaz says when asked what relationship advice she has for guys. “Women, conversely, need to not be crazy bitches who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them.”

As for whether Cammy still thinks marriage is a “dying institution,” as she has said so candidly before?

“I do. I think we have to make our own rules. I don’t think we should live our lives in relationships based off of old traditions that don’t suit our world any longer.”

Guess that means we won’t see Cameron in a white dress, heading down the aisle with Yankee player and womanizer extraordinaire Alex Rodriguez anytime soon.

The two have been dating for over a year, and Diaz confirms she is really happy as is.

“Ya, it’s really awesome,” is all we get from the actress about her relationship with a “I love baseball!” thrown in. Hey we’ll take it!

The very athletic couple were spotted looking lovingly into each other’s eyes as they left a private gym in New York City on a chilly April morning in New York City. Although the two were clearly enjoying the other’s company, they quickly became cold once they spotted the paparazzi.

Alex is currently in New York for the beginning of baseball season with the Yankees and his new gal Cameron is staying in the City to show her man some support.
