Sheer is one of the biggest trends of the year but the normally stylish actress Amanda Peet may have taken the trend in the wrong direction when she wore a see-through black dress to the NBC Upfronts Presentation in New York City earlier this week.

The star of NBC’s upcoming comedy Bent wore a sheer black dress with a white lace bodice and a very high collar. While the dress isn’t necessarily bad, the loose fit looks sloppy on Amanda’s petite frame.

If you were hoping to see Amanda Peet on the Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday you might have been disappointed that she didn’t show up, but she had a really good excuse: she was giving birth.

Amanda went into early and unexpected labor on Tuesday right before she was set to appear or the show. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl and Peet’s rep says that the two are “doing great.”

Peet already has a 3-year-old daughter, Frances, who reportedly wanted to name her new sibling “Turtle.” Obviously, Frances has a future as a celebrity mom.

Fortunately, Peet and her husband decided to skip the Hollywood baby name route and named their new baby Molly June.
