However, one fan seems to think they’ve got more in common than just their thespian talents: their movie star good looks.

Seyfried tweeted Thursday a case of mistaken identity:

Anne Hathaway attempted to clear up the controversy surrounding her Oscar dress by issuing a public apology to Valentino, the designer she was supposed to wear on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards.

Though the luxury fashion house (started by her good friend and wedding dress designer) released a statement hours before the Oscars confirming they would be dressing Hathaway for the red carpet, the starlet surprised more than just the peeps at Valentino when she showed up in a pink Prada dress with ill-fitting darts that created such a buzz that it earned the nickname “Nipplegate.”

In a statement to People magazine, the starlet — who ended up on more than a few worst-dressed lists for her pink dress’ ill-fitting darts — apologized for “any disappointment” her last-minute dress change caused, explaining that she ditched the Valentino dress she had planned to wear in order to avoid the ultimate red carpet fashion faux pas — aka “Copygate.”

“It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans,” Hathaway said in the statement.

According to Fashionista, the Valentino dress Hathaway had planned to wear turned out to be too similar to the Alexander McQueen gown her Les Miserables co-star Amanda Seyfried wore.

Meanwhile, Glamour reports that the lookalike Oscar dress may have belonged to Jennifer Aniston, who wore a strapless red Valentino dress to the Oscars.

Though neither Seyfried, Aniston, or Hathaway’s camps have confirmed the Valentino dress or fellow red carpet starlet in question, Valentino has gotten flack for dressing Sally Field and Hilary Swank (who only attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party) in similar red gowns with long trains.

Sure, it’s nice to see Ben Affleck win a bunch awards of and everything, but everyone knows the real reason to tune into the awards shows is to see the fashion.

And this year’s lineup has proven to be an especially memorable one in the fashion field thanks to the elegant and often daring looks worn by celebrities like Beyonce Knowles, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway and more.

10.) Jennifer Lawrence – Screen Actors Guild Awards

Lawrence’s fashion this season has been a little hit or miss — but when she hits, she hits. Case in point: The navy Christian Dior Haute Couture dress she wore to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January, which had everybody talking (especially when it, you know, kind of fell apart, but didn’t really).

9.) Rihanna – Grammy Awards

Even if you don’t agree with her personal life, you can’t deny that Rihanna looked pretty effing awesome at the Grammys, in this custom red gown by Azzedine Alaia. The kicker: its long, flowing train, which made her look all the more Grammy-worthy.

8.) Naomi Watts – Screen Actors Guild Awards

Although we loved the Zac Posen gown she wore to the Golden Globes, it was the Marchesa dress Naomi Watts wore to the SAG awards that proved to be her most shining moment so far this season.

After receiving mixed reviews for the sea foam gown she wore to the Golden Globes, Jessica Chastain went for a darker (and ultra-flattering) shade of blue to the BAFTAs in February — and she totally killed it.

Sometimes, the perfect look doesn’t require a long gown, tons of flair and all that jazz — which is exactly what Beyonce proved when she showed up the Grammys in this simple — but gorgeous — black-and-white jumpsuit by Osman.

It’s that time of year again, movie buffs! Yep, that’s right. Another Valentine’s Day, another overtly romantic movie with a poster of the two beautiful lead actors in an embrace.

This year’s selection is an adaptation of a novel from the man who seems to have nothing but romantic bones in his body, Nicholas Sparks. Seriously, Sparks is like the romantic gift that keeps on giving.

The latest novel-turned-sappy-movie is Safe Haven, starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. The pair of leads easily fit into the roster of Sparks-leads alumni including Amanda Seyfried, Mandy Moore, Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron, to name a few, but does the newest edition to the Nicholas Sparks movie collection have as much (pun intended) heart as the movies that came before it?

Critics weighed in, and according to them, the film is generally lackluster. But, in the end, it all depends on what the audience thinks. Meaning, don’t let the critics discourage you too much! Having said that, here’s a look at exactly what they had to say about the film:

Though the nights’ big fashion trends were pretty black and white, some stars chose to step outside the box and add a pop of color to the red carpet. Freida Pinto, Lea Michele and Nina Dobrev popped in hot pink gowns that reminded us that spring is just right around the corner.

If the world’s top fashion designers were planning their spring break, it’d be an adventure-themed trip, with lots of hiking, climbing and sailing, followed by night after night of dancing.

All the major trends from the Spring 2013 runways lend themselves to movement, whether it’s looser suits, longer shorts, or swingier skirts.

Even the season’s shoes were sleek. We saw models gliding, instead of clomping down the runways, in flats and thin-soled pumps made for walking.

Ushering in spring were sporty styles designed for playing outside – rain or shine. Sportswear was a common aesthetic, giving the entire season a playful, throwback feel with touches like washed-out denim, high tops, overalls and windbreakers, each done with a mix of feminine fabrics and masculine cool.

Dresses, however, were treated with more structure. Stripes, bold colors and nipped-in waists livened up evening-wear and offered a subtle nod to the sporty separates accompanying them down the runway.

Whether the hectic pace of our daily lives is sinking into designers’ minds, or cabin fever has left them longing for days spent playing outside, we’re in love with the idea of being active in our fashion.

The leading ladies of Tinsletown were out and about this weekend and showed no signs of slowing down.

Sunday night’s SAG Awards were swarming with tons of celebs in Los Angeles. After cheering on co-star Anne Hathaway for taking home the Best Supporting Actress award, Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfriend was spotted exiting an afterparty at Hollywood’s famous Chateau Marmont.

Meanwhile, Rihanna was escorted out of a Los Angeles nightclub after a girl’s night out with friends. The “Diamonds” singer has been in the recording studio with on-again beau Chris Brown, but neither singer has spoken about specifics of the project.

On Sunday night, Brown found himself in hot water again when he got into a physical altercation with R&B singer Frank Ocean at a Los Angeles recording studio. According to reports, the two got into a verbal (and then physical) argument over studio time.

On another side of town in sunny Southern California, No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani spent her Sunday running errands and brunching with girlfriends. The mother-of-two exuded her famous rocker chic style with an all-black ensemble and bright pink sunglasses.

After several seasons of colorful gowns and bold beauty trends, we’re seeing a return to classic elegance on the red carpet this awards season — and that trend continued at the SAG Awards on Sunday.

Gone were the electric hues and busy patterns, daring sheer and slitted styles, and over-the-top embellishments and 3-D architectural constructions that pushed the fashion boundaries in 2012. Replacing the bold and edgy was an easy elegance, with stars playing it safe at the SAG Awards in simple silhouettes and classic hues, from black and white to navy and red.

Matching the simple, unfussy vibe of the fashion was softer, more natural hair and makeup. Translation: For the first time in awhile, the latest red carpet beauty trends are actually wearable in real life.

From effortless up- and- down-’dos to glam waves and faux bobs, the hair — save for one or two Man Repeller-esque ‘dos (we’re looking at you January Jones) — was natural, slightly messy and completely date night-worthy. The boldest the makeup went was a red or burgundy pout or a charcoal smoky eye, with most stars sticking to natural, pretty makeup.

In fact, nails were the boldest stars went with their looks. Anne Hathaway and Kaley Cuoco went festive with their fingertips, sporting whimsical nail art designs, while other stars traded fall’s darker shades in for white and nude nails.

Black is back. After the sea of bold hues parading down the red carpet for the past year, black and white styles dominated the red carpet at this year’s SAG Awards.

Anne Hathaway, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey among the bevy of stars sticking to all-black looks, while Sofia Vergara, Jayma Mays and Kerry Washington opted for crisp white gowns. Refusing to pick sides, January Jones, Claire Danes and Julianne Moore combined the two in elegant black-and-white gowns.

Though there was no gray area when it came to the dominant palette of the night, the majority of stars who did break free from the black-and-white pack, including best-dressed stars Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Kidman, stuck to regal midnight and purple gowns.

Still, a few signs of spring were blooming on the red carpet. Brightening things up, Freida Pinto, Lea Michele and Nina Dobrev popped in hot pink gowns.

Though metallics have slipped from their number one spot this awards season, they continue to remain one of the red carpet’s lasting trends, and one look at Jennifer Garner, Julia Stiles and Naomi Watts’ shiny looks last night and its not hard to see why.

As for silhouettes, the column gown reigned supreme. Mays and Maria Menonous jazzed up the simple silhouette with elegant trains, while Pinto, Jessica Paré and Giuliana Rancic carved out their waists in straighter styles with bold belts.

Strapless continues to be the big neckline trend this season, as shoulders were showcased at nearly every turn. However, we also saw straps emerge as an up-and-coming alternative to the sans-straps styles that have been holding strong for several seasons.

Amanda Seyfried is set to portray 70s porn star Linda Lovelace in the upcoming biopic Lovelace — and if this newly released clip is any indication, she pulls it off quite well.

Released this week, the clip shows a vulnerable Lovelace learning how to become comfortable in front of the camera by describing her character in the controversial porn film that made her a star, Deep Throat.

“At first, I’m closed up like a flower bud,” she says. “And then gradually the pedals start to open, and then I finally learn about myself and I learn how to enjoy sex. And I feel free!”

Naturally, Seyfried — who most recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated musical Les Miserables — goes full-on 70s for the role, ditching her signature blonde lockes for a darker look that aptly suits the time period. She also dons an admittedly sexy one-piece for the shoot.

The film will soon screen at the Sundance Film Festival, which kicked off in Park City, Utah last week. It co-stars Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone and Wes Bentley, among others.
