Last night in London, the perfectly coiffed Anna was spotted chatting up Ed Westwick, the native Brit who plays mogul-in-the-making Chuck Bass on GG, at the Vogue London’s Emerging Designers cocktail party. Perhaps they were discussing Chuck’s neverending supply of silk pocket squares?

Anna met Ed’s acquaintance after recently friending his co-star (and Vogue covergirl) Blake Lively, even inviting her to sit front-row with her at fashion weeks in Paris and New York.

A feud of sorts has been brewing between the two fashion icons since Gaga reportedly kept Wintour waiting at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in May, when Mother Monster (that would be Gaga) delayed her performance, Wintour said, because she was “communing with God.”

Now the author of the Gaga tell-all book, Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga, tells RadarOnline that the Met Ball showdown left quite the bad taste in Wintour’s mouth.

“Anna wasn’t impressed. She thought that she was just sort of behaving like a childish diva and not the professional who was about to perform for her peers, these incredibly famous designers and celebrities,” Maureen Callahan wrote.

Bitchy fashion “insiders” have dished that Gabby is considered to be “a joke” in the fashion community because of her weight and that “it would be impossible to get a regular-sized girl in [Vogue's sample sizes], let alone Gabby.” Yeesh, can someone give these old fashion crabs some carbs? We’ve heard that starvation can turn into a mean person, but we didn’t realize it was this bad.

However, Vogue has managed to squeeze “regular-sized” girls into their alleged limited run of sample-sized items, so that excuse seems a little thin. And Gabby has already graced the cover of fashion magazine V, so it seems a little strange that the fashion community is now rejecting her. Maybe the anonymous “fashion insiders” are just upset that someone is allowed to eat in Hollywood?

Vogue‘s Editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour does have a reputation for having high standards when it comes to plus-sized people appearing in her magazine. She famously had the plus-sized designing sisters of Rodarte go on a diet and see a trainer for Vogue‘s “shape” issue and she had once requested that Oprah lose weight for her cover story in 1998. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Wintour denied Gabby a spread in the magazine based on her weight.

While the threads were splashy with shoulder pads and neons, the celebrity attendance was as minimal as monk robes.

It was previously announced by Jacobs and team that yesterday’s presentation, part of New York Fashion Week, would be scaled back grandly. Even more worrisome—a notoriously late Jacobs started the show only one minute off schedule.

Fashion elites Anna Wintour and daughter Bee Shaffer took in the looks, as did Rachel Zoe and French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld.

The very same show last year was attended by Victoria Beckham, M.I.A., Kevin Federline, Ellen Pomepo, Molly Sims, Gretchen Mol, Slema Blair, Vincent Gallo and Debbie Harry.

Wintour has taken UK singing sensation Adele under her wing, and while visiting the magazine offices recently to be photographed for a forthcoming issue got an added perk—Wintour insisted on dressing the star for the Grammy Awards.

“It was just like ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’” the 20-year-old told the International Herlad Tribune.

Winning Record of the Year for her cut “Chasing Pavements,” the singer turned up to the Grammy ceremony with Vogue editor at large Hamish Bowles.

“I don’t ever wear dresses,” she elaborated, “I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan. But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It’s going to be quite a big deal.”

But when it comes to taking a cold, hard look at herself, she doesn’t always like what she sees.

Wintour, 59, was at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Saturday for the premiere of The September Issue, the R.J. Cutler-directed documentary about the inner workings of the magazine. (Cutler and his crew followed Wintour and the Vogue staff over nine months.)

Wintour was quick to admit that she wasn’t terribly comfortable watching herself on the big screen.

“It’s hard to look at yourself when you’re used to being on the other end of the camera,” Wintour told Us Magazine.

Wintour was probably most shaken while witnessing her behavior onscreen. The editorial big-wig—who inspired Meryl Streep‘s character in 2006′s The Devil Wears Prada—has a reputation for being somewhat imperious.

Though, if the rumors are true that she’s on her way out the door at Vogue, perhaps she can use the coming spare time to engage in a bit of soul-searching and attitude adjustment.

While preparing her assimilation into The City, Lauren Conrad‘s former Vogue cohort takes to her official blog to relive a fond (although mortifying) moment from her former days on The Hills.

But as New York magazine words it, her days of attending high-profile fashion soirées just might be coming to an end.

The publication points out that Wintour’s contract at Vogue‘s parent company Condé Nast is about to expire, and some sources say she’s considering retirement.

Currently, the editor, who inspired the Meryl Streep character in the film adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, oversees Vogue, Men’s Vogue, Fashion Rocks and Teen Vogue.

New York notes, “With all the budget cuts at Condé and Vogue‘s flagging newsstand sales, now might not be a bad time to bow out. All the same… though the world’s other Vogue editors who have been rumored to replace Anna are fierce, none are nearly as fearsome.”

After 20 years of Wintour’s influence, could the print fashion world ever be the same without her?

Can’t you just hear it: “But I paid $1,000 on eBay for this Birkin bag just for tonight!” Radio City ushers kept pointing out to frustrated Cosmopolitan swillers and their gay best friends the fine print on the tickets, declaring the event to be “first come, first served.”

Even the stars were worried about their families getting in. “I hope my mom gets in,” Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbes, said. Don’t fret though, Sarah Jessica Parker managed to climb a fence to get in by using Matthew Broderick as a stepstool. Those Blahniks leave marks!

Obsessed City cats who had come from as far away as Arizona were ready to kick Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, Charlotte, Big, Steve and Stanford’s collective ass.

Jen Ferguson, 23, of British Columbia, who sported a “Hervé Léger bandage dress,” said, “I’ve spent five months looking forward to this. I’m angry and frustrated.” Her parents had rounded up four tickets for $1,000 each and booked rooms at the chichi Plaza Hotel. Hey, if Daddy can pay that much, just have a private screening, Vancouverian rich girl!

Others on hand, who presumably didn’t have trouble getting in, included Jerry Seinfeld, Ashley Olsen, Edie Falco, Vogue editrix Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, designer Zac Posen, Jennifer Hudson (who stars as Carrie’s assistant in the movie), Fergie, Mary J. Blige, Lil’ Kim and Donna Karan.

One flack told People the night was supposed to be “as glamorous as the Oscars,” with a pink carpet and Swarovski crystals adorning both the premiere and the after-party at the Museum of Modern Art.

The after-after party—for cast and crew only—took place at the Carlyle Hotel (wait, doesn’t Kim need to soak her dentures and hit the hay?), where the legendary Bemelmans Bar  created a sugary, tequlia-laden drink called the Bradshaw.

If you’re making it, serve shaken, straight up in a martini glass rimmed in hot pink sugar. And be sure to add extra dashes of hype, some lukewarm reviews and a feather from whatever the hell that was Parker had on her head at the London premiere.
