Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross (whose husband suffered from cancer) and former American Idol singer David Archuleta also turned up for the star-studded charity event. Officials said they would announce the fundraising total this week. The 2008 Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon raised more than $100 million.

The Hung actress dropped in at Late Show With David Letterman last night and decided to lash out at her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon—with whom she has a son—on national TV.

Characterizing Laffoon—they officially divorced in March—as a “lazy ass,” Heche went on to describe Laffoon’s typical work day.

“He goes out to the mailbox and he opens up the little mailbox door and goes, ‘Oh! I got a check from Anne! Oh! I got a check from Anne! Yay!” Heche seethed.

Real classy, Anne.

In Heche’s defense, it’s possible that her alter-ego, Celestia, temporarily took over her brain again.

This will be the first child for the couple, who met on the set of doomed series Men In Trees in 2006, when Heche, 39, was still married to ex-husband Coley Laffoon. Heche, who dated comedienne/talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000, has a six-year-old son, Homer, with Laffoon.

Canadian-born Tupper, 43, is currently filming the horror/thriller flick The Disembodied.

Heche, who filed for divorce from Laffoon in 2007, revealed in June 2008 that she was nearly broke from lack of work, and would no longer be able to pay nearly $15,000 in monthly alimony and child support to Laffoon and Homer.

The actress will next be seen in the comedy Spread, co-starring Ashton Kutcher.

Good thing she picked up the work; with another mouth to feed on the way, she’s going to need the cash.

Ashton, 30, hosted a super exclusive dinner for the cast and production team at Village at The Yard’s TMobile’s G1 Cafe, and his 46-year-old wife Demi Moore came to support.

“Demi arrived a bit late,” an onlooker tells Celebuzz, “Ashton was mingling but the second they saw each other they ran to each other and hugged.”

The insider says Kutcher gave an emotional speech of thanks to the group, which included co-star Anne Heche, rocking a baby bump.

“Anne was seated across from Demi,” the source says, “she looked comfortable talking to [Moore].”

While reports speculate that 39-year-old Heche is having a boy, no doubt some girl talk came in handy for the expectant mother.

While Kutcher and Heche busy themselves with work, Moore is busy tending to her own brood. In this month’s issue of Vanity Fair, photos debuted of Moore and former husband Bruce Willis debuting their daughter Scout Willis at the prestigious Crillon Bal.

Heche, 39, is known for being one of the more eccentric actresses in Hollywood.  She met Tupper, 43, in 2006 on the set of their now cancelled ABC sitcom, while still married to ex-husband Coley Laffoon.

“They are thrilled,” Heche’s rep reports on the mental state of the parents-to-be.

Heche filed for divorce from Laffoon in February of 2007 and is engaged in a vicious settlement battle with him in which claims of Internet porn, infidelity, and bankruptcy have been hurled by both camps. They have a six-year-old son, Homer, together and the dissolution of their marriage has not yet been finalized.

Heche was once primarily known for her much publicized lesbian relationship with Ellen DeGeneres.  That pairing ended after Heche took up with Laffoon—who was a cameraman on a documentary Heche directed about DeGeneres.

The wacky didn’t stop there. After her split from DeGeneres in 2000, Heche reportedly overdosed on Ecstasy and went wandering around the California countryside. She was found by a suburban family, who reported that she was claiming to be a goddess named “Celestia” and waiting for an arriving spaceship.

Heche later wrote a book, Call Me Crazy, about her experiences.

Please don’t name the kid “Celestia,” Anne.

First of all, his mom is Anne Heche.

Secondly, it looks like he’s going to get screwed out of child support. At least temporarily.

The star of the recently canceled Men in Trees appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday, where a judge granted her a reprieve from the $15,000 child and spousal support payment she was due to make for son Homer and ex-husband, Coleman Laffoon, in July.

Heche claims that, since Men in Trees was axed, she has been unable to find more work and would be more than $6,000 in the hole if required to meet her obligations. (FUN FACT: The average American household carries approximately $8,000 in debt.)

In her court statement, Heche noted that the only employment income she has received since January was for a short-term movie contract which netted her “$65,000, approximately the amount I received for one episode of Men in Trees.”

Wow. From $65,000 an episode four months ago to poverty today? Sounds like Anne’s grip on finances is as tenuous as her grip on reality. Her costar boy-toy James Tupper must be costing a pretty penny.

Maybe Heche could take a lesson from her meltdown in 2000 and moonlight as a door-to-door shower tester. It’s not much, but these are tough times for everyone.
