Unlike some singers, Anthony Kiedis is perfectly happy letting the world know about his bizarre childhood.

Variety reports that the tattooed Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman is working with HBO to adapt his early life story into a series for the cable outlet.

The series will chronicle the singer’s relationship with his father, John “Spider” Kiedis, who moved with Anthony from  Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Los Angeles in the 1970s. An aspiring actor, the elder Kiedis slung dope to rock stars (the Who and  Led Zeppelin reportedly among them) while waiting for his never-to-happen big break.

The lifestyle was quite an eye-opener for a preteen Kiedis. “He introduced me to the arts, to a more culturally magnificent life,” the singer notes. “But some of it was this heavy, adult matter that I wasn’t quite capable of digesting. … It was a very rich but kind of challenging period of my life. I was thrust into this adult mentality by age 11.”

The proposed series, characterized as a drama with comedic elements, is being developed with Catapult 360′s Marc Abrams and Michael Benson, whose credits include Entourage and The Bernie Mac Show.

Kiedis is considering the possibility of narrating the program and possibly making cameo appearances. No word on who’s being considered to play the younger Kiedis, but the possibilities are endless.

The show will tentatively be called Scar Tissue, the same title as Kiedis’ 2004 autobiography, but won’t be based on the book, which covers the singer’s Chili Peppers era.

With the divorce rumors flying, Lotharios across the land are sprucing up for a shot at being Madonna‘s next fancy man.

Maybe they should take a look at what the Material Matron looks for in a mate.

If the past means anything, she’ll be indulging her inner groupie. (Which means A-Rod just might actually have a shot.)

PETA has released a rather large list of celebrity’s who don’t eat meat, capped off by the Top Ten Sexiest Vegetarians of 2008.

The wiener-refusing winners are Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis and “Bleeding Love” singer Leona Lewis. Who knew eating tofu could be eroticized?

Sexiness aside, Leona Lewis has made consideration for animals a lifetime cause.

Lewis, the first British singer to have a debut album top the U.S. charts, says she’s “totally against” animal cruelty. Wasn’t she discovered by Simon Cowell? Isn’t “animal cruelty” sort of what he does on American Idol?

PETA’s sexy celebrity herbivores include Carrie Underwood, Alicia Silverstone, Kristen Bell, Emmy Rossum, Jenna Jameson (bean curd and yams haven’t helped her disturbing recent appearance), John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix.

They said it couldn’t be done, that no team has ever come back from a 3-1 losing position to take the NBA Finals. But Hollywood doesn’t give up on its boys, and come back the Los Angeles Lakers did—whipping the Boston Celtics in a balls-out game-five battle on the Staples Center hardcourt.

And the Tinseltown contingent represented nicely: Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington, Paula Abdul, Matt Damon, David Beckham, David Spade, Anthony Kiedis, Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham, Sylvester Stallone, Robert Downey Jr. and on and on.  Ashanti sang the National Anthem. It was an A-list affair all around.
