Last week, CBS threw a big party where it trotted out a bunch of glittery celebs like Robin Williams and Anna Faris and boasted about how great its new season was going to be. But, whoops, it forgot one! A little single camera comedy starring Ari Graynor called Bad Teacher, based on the Cameron Diaz movie of the same name.

CBS issued a news release today saying that it was, in fact, picking up Bad Teacher for the 2013 season. It did not give any details about which time-slot the show will air during. Graynor plays the titular role played by Diaz in the movie. Ryan Hansen, Sara Gilbert and Kristin Davis were also involved in the pilot, but CBS’ release makes no mention of them and it’s not exactly unheard of for TV roles to be recast.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I actually liked Bad Teacher when it came out, but much of that enjoyment came from the movie’s unapologetically irreverent — and vulgar — humor. These are things that will have to be stripped from the TV show, leaving a “bad” teacher, who doesn’t really act all that badly. Graynor, Hansen, Gilbert and Davis are a pretty good cast, though, and could perhaps make this show something special. All will be revealed when the show eventually makes its mystery premiere sometime in the next 12 months.

After the success of 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, Channing Tatum may have earned a spot for his name at the top of movie marquees, but in 10 Years, his female co-stars are the main attraction.

In the new film, which opens September 14, Ari Graynor, Kate Mara, Lynn Collins, Aubrey Plaza, Rosario Dawson and Tatum’s real-life spouse Jenna Dewan-Tatum play different women from Tatum’s life – past and present – who converge on his high school reunion to reconnect, raise hell, and eventually, reflect on the changes they’ve experienced in the decade since graduating.

Who’s who among the women of 10 Years?

Dawson plays Mary, Tatum’s high school sweetheart Mary, whom he hasn’t seen in a year. She recently appeared in the Kevin James comedy Zookeeper and worked on Tony Scott’s final film Unstoppable.

Dewan-Tatum plays Tatum’s current girlfriend, who joins him for the reunion only to find his plans to propose jeopardized by the return of his ex Mary.

Mara plays Elise, a quiet girl who attracted the attention of Reeves (Oscar Isaac) in high school. Even though he’s a successful musician, he struggles to find the courage to talk to her at the reunion.

Collins plays Anna, the hottest girl in their graduating class. Although she still commands the attention of Marty (Justin Long) and AJ (Max Minghella), the pair soon begin to realize that she may not be worthy of their adulation.

Plaza plays Olivia, new wife of Garrity (Brian Geraghty). She knows nothing of his high school days, when he pretended to be black, and is soon confronted by his past.

And Graynor plays Sam, a former cheerleader turned full-time mom who is now married to the former class clown Cully (Chris Pratt).

Whether you’re looking for a laugh or scare, the box office has it all this weekend.

In one corner, the sexy and laugh-out-loud flick For a Good Time, Call… finally makes its theatrical release after receiving warm reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. Starring comedic vixens Ari Graynor and Lauren Miller, the film centers around two unlikely roommates who start a phone sex line in order to pay for their swanky New York City apartment.

But what if you want to scare your pants off instead of splitting them with laughter?

Sam Raimi, the man behind horror classics such as The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, is at it again as he’s in the producer’s chair for The Possession.

Based on the famous Jewish folklore of the Dybbuk box, the movie revolves around a young girl who becomes possessed after purchasing the haunted artifact at a yard sale.

The owner of the real Dybbuk box actually offered to send it to Raimi as a gift, but the filmmaker quickly declined, saying, “I didn’t want anything to do with it. I’m scared of the thing.”

Hey, if it can scare Raimi, it should definitely have moviegoers shaking in terror.
