Like any good aunt, Ashlee Simpson is already singing the praises of her niece after sister Jessica Simpson gave birth to little Maxwell — a big bundle of joy weighing nine pounds, 13 ounces!

“Jessica has wanted to be a mom since we were little girls and I couldn’t be more excited for her and Eric!” she told People.

But she wasn’t the only one thrilled with the birth!

Ashley’s 3-year-old son was also excited over the news. “Bronx and I are in love with Maxwell already!” she added.

Also like any good auntie — she’s already spoiling her new family member. Back in March, she gave her a wee-size Fendi dress and matching garment bag at Jessica’s baby shower.

Ashlee Simpson took a seemingly camera shy Bronx Wentz out for a family fun night out at second Annual Milk and Bookies Story Time Celebration. While he stayed mainly hidden behind mom and a friend, Jack Black  and son Samuel were hamming it up elsewhere on the red carpet, playfully making faces while taking a ride on dad’s shoulders.

Milk and Bookies is a program that lets kids select and donate books to other kids that can’t afford their own. Now only does it encourage reading, but community works as well. The family-fueled events feature music, story time and, of course, milk and cookies.
