Earlier this week, the Indecent Proposal star favorited a string of tweets that echoed the message of forgiveness, with one from rapper Wiz Khalifa which read, “We all make mistakes. Don’t let that be the reason you give up on somebody.” Demi’s cryptic tweets led many fans to suspect that the 49-year-old was thinking of taking back Ashton, 34, after his alleged infidelity.

What may have caused Demi’s change of heart?

In May, the couple had reportedly crossed paths for the first time since the actress’ stint in rehab during Yehuda Berg’s birthday bash. Berg, a mutual friend of the former lovers, was the Kaballah rabbi who officiated their wedding back in 2005.

“She went over to wish Yehuda a happy birthday and Ashton was right by him. Yehuda left them to talk,” a partygoer told The Mirror. “They started to chat and were extremely affectionate. She was ­staring at him like a love-sick puppy.”

However, that wasn’t the end of the Hollywood exes’ interactions. Later on at the soiree, Kutcher had made a public speech that many thought hinted at his guilty conscience. “I’ve made all these horrendous mistakes in the last year,” he said, after telling the crowd about Rabbi Berg’s unconditional love for his friends.

“Ashton’s voice started to break as he spoke,” the party insider said. “He just fell into tears. He sat down to a round of applause while Demi just looked frozen.”

“It was obvious he was referring to the break-up,” the source added.

While the Two and a Half Men star, 34, has already started shooting the biopic where he takes on the role of the late Steve Jobs, the Oscar-winning writer (The Social Network, West Wing, Moneyball) has announced that he too is making a movie about the Apple mogul.

Sorkin will adapt Walter Isaacson’s biography of Jobs, Sony Pictures announced on Tuesday (as reported by Entertainment Weekly).

So, what’s the difference between the two biopics about the technology innovator?

Kutcher’s indie flick, titled Jobs, is written by Matt Whiteley and follows the late Jobs’ journey “from wayward hippie to co-founder of Apple.”

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures co-head Amy Pascal in a statement to EW about their movie, ”Steve Jobs’ story is unique: he was one of the most revolutionary and influential men not just of our time but of all time. There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin; in his hands, we’re confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining, and polarizing.”

Steve Jobs passed away on Oct. 5, 2011 after battling cancer. He was 56.

Sporting the late Apple founder’s signature black turtleneck, blue jeans, and sneakers look, the Two and a Half Men actor was snapped walking around the set of the his new indie flick. Titled Jobs, the film is set document the technology mogul’s rise to success.

According to a production insider, Ashton, 34, has been taking his new role very seriously.

“He is already meeting with folks that knew Steve Jobs. He’s working with professionals to get inside the voice. He’s letting his hair grow out. I understand he’s canceled all meetings and actually canceled all other projects,” producer Mark Hulme told Flash [via The Daily], adding, “He believes the role was meant for him.”

“The physical resemblance is actually scary … but he himself connects with this man in a very significant way. Of course he’s a big techie. We are feeling convinced that he’s gonna nail this.”

On Saturday, CBS announced that the hit sit-com has been renewed for its tenth season after seeing an increase in ratings since Sheen’s departure. This will be the series’ second season without the troubled 46-year-old actor.

Ashton Kutcher and country crooner Miranda Lambert settled their differences on Friday when the pair crossed paths at Barnstable Brown Party, Louisville’s famous party before the Kentucky Derby.

Lambert, 28, recently took offense to Kutcher, 34, when he wore a large cowboy hat and red blazer to the Academy of Country Music Awards in April. After presenting her with the Female Vocalist of the Year award, a confused Miranda tweeted: “Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I’m kinda wondering?”

It turns out it was all a misunderstanding! Ashton explained himself and told her that his country getup was a way to show his love for the music genre.

The deal, which will likely become official before CBS’ Upfronts presentation, on May 16, will reportedly earn Ashton around $700,000 per-episode, according to Deadline — not surprising, considering his status in Hollywood.

Still, despite Ashton’s record-setting debut last year — his first episode drew a staggering 28 million viewers, Two and a Half Men’s biggest audience to date — viewership has fallen off significantly under his lead; on April 9, the show hit a series low, drawing just 10.39 million viewers, while last week’s episode fared only slightly better, with 11.25 million viewers.

With that in mind, and with Ashton’s multi-million deal imminent, Celebuzz had to ask: Is he still worth all that money?

“Absolutely not,” said Maggie Furlong, TV Editor for The Huffington Post. “Although, given that his predecessor, Charlie Sheen, was pulling in $1.2 million an episode on the show, I guess Kutcher is a bargain.”

“Still, as network TV ratings go down across the board, shows are looking for more reasonable salary requirements from their stars — how many ratings-grabbing shirtless or naked Ashton Kutcher scenes will $700,000 an episode buy you?” she added.

Furlong’s Huffington Post colleague, Maureen Ryan, disagrees, claiming that Kutcher’s hefty paycheck will pay off in the long run.

“Two and a Half Men is still, I would guess, very profitable for the studio and the network making the show, or else they wouldn’t be paying that more-or-less insane price. Don’t forget that this is a show that does incredibly well in syndication … There’s still a lot of gold to be made in the show’s post-CBS life cycle. The more episodes that get made, the more coin in the studio’s pocket for the long term.”

Todd VanDerWerff of The AV Club proposed a similar stance, arguing that CBS can’t afford to lose the show just yet.

“Comedy is ascendant right now, and even if the show’s days as the strongest comedy on TV are over, it’s still an incredibly important tentpole in the CBS Monday lineup,” he said.

Last March, Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men, then the top-rated comedy on television, after he made a number of disparaging comments about the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre.

Then, in May, amid a fury of Internet reports, Kutcher was confirmed as Sheen’s official replacement on the series — which, naturally, required the show to be somewhat retooled. (In the season 9 premiere, it was revealed that Sheen’s character, Charlie, died in a freak accident, making room for Kutcher’s character — Internet billionare Walden Schmidt — to move in after his wife kicked him out.)

What began as a more-than-promising start for Kutcher quickly transpired into floundering ratings — not to mention a sea of tabloid drama after it was reported that Ashton had cheated on his wife of six years, Demi Moore, with multiple women. (Moore has since filed for divorce.)

Nowadays, as the show approaches its ninth season finale, both Furlong and Ryan agree that Kutcher, 34, won’t be able to save the show.

“Kutcher made a big splash when he joined the show — fans were curious, and seeing him naked onscreen with bits blurred out certainly made headlines, but that was a one-and-done kind of stunt,” Furlong told Celebuzz. “I honestly don’t see the ratings improving next year. The fans have spoken, they don’t like the show without Charlie Sheen and this season should be the last.”

“I think it’s a case of the writers coming up with more entertaining and amusing things for his character to do — that’s really the true challenge, in my opinion,” said Ryan. “I’m not sure the ratings are going to go up at all next season, but if the writers and producers could get things to the point where the show stabilizes in the ratings and doesn’t fall any further, I’m betting the powers that be will count that as a win.”

“The show’s ratings were already trending downward–natural, for a show this old–but that was thrown off by the ratings blip that was the Charlie Sheen situation, which threw all of the numbers off,” added VanDerWerff. “At this point, the only thing that could reverse the slide would be a Sheen guest appearance, and we know that’s not going to happen.

As for whether the show will actually go beyond a tenth season, Furlong and Ryan remain pessimistic.

“I can only see Ashton Kutcher and the show itself lasting another season — max,” said Furlong. “Ten seasons of any show is an impressive feat; I’d say they should quit while they’re ahead, but they already missed that, so they should quit before they’re any more behind.”

“If the ratings stabilize next season or even go up a tick, the show might continue beyond next season,” said Ryan. “But it’s very much a season-to-season renewal situation right now — there’s no guarantee that it’ll come back after next season, not at all. After next year, everyone might just pick up their giant, giant sacks of money and go home.”

VanDerWerff, however, thinks the show could last a little longer.

“Realistically, I think there are probably two years left in the show. It’s enormously unusual for a sitcom to run more than 11 seasons,” he said. “As a show gets older, the natural stop points seem to come around years 7, 9, and 11 (probably because of how production deals are structured), and I would be very surprised to see the show run past the spring of 2014.”

“That said, it’ll be one of the longest runs for a comedy ever, most of it in a time when comedy was ‘dead’ on TV, so everyone involved should feel nothing but pride at the longevity, including Kutcher, who saved the show at a time when it could have very easily collapsed,” he added. “It’ll hit 200 episodes in its finale this season, and that’s a number a vanishingly small number of scripted primetime shows have hit, especially in the modern era of shorter season orders.”

Off camera, Ashton has been linked to his That ’70s Show costar Mila Kunis.

Although the two have been spotted out and about together, Mila’s rep confirmed to Celebuzz that the 28-year-old Friends With Benefits star is nothing more than a close friend to Ashton.

The spokesperson said: “They’ve been friends for years and they had dinner with a bunch of friends. They’re not dating.”

According to Deadline, Ashton Kutcher is this close to signing a new deal that will keep him on the top-rated CBS comedy Two and a Half Men for another season.

The report says that Ashton will make “about $700,000 per episode,” adding that the deal is expected to be finalized in time for CBS’ Upfronts presentation, on May 16.

But what about his costars?

Ashton, 34, signed on to the show last May, after Charlie Sheen was unceremoniously fired in March over disparaging comments made at series creator Chuck Lorre.

The That 70′s Show costars spent three night’s together over the weekend in Carpinteria, Calif. — an oceanside town, south of Santa Barbara. PEOPLE reports Kutcher, 34, and Kunis, 28, drove from Los Angeles to their quiet getaway location on April 19 and spent most of their time dining on sushi and shopping for fruit and flowers.

Now, speaking to Celebuzz, a friend of the pair reveals that this fledgling new romance has been “a long time coming.”

“They have been close friends for years and there has always been a lot of chemistry,” the pal, who did not want to be identified, told Celebuzz.

“Whenever they are in between relationships, or aren’t seriously dating anyone, they tend to spend more time together.”

The source cautioned, however, that neither is ready for a serious commitment. ”But at the end of the day, they are great friends and have a lot of fun together,” the insider added.

After photos emerged of the duo on a sushi dinner date in Studio City, Calif., on April 15, a rep for the Friends with Benefits star denied they were a couple, insisting to Celebuzz: “They are not dating.”

According to Variety, the Two and a Half Men actor will play the lead in Jobs, an indie biopic that follows the late Apple founder’s rise to success. Although a supporting cast have yet to be announced, reports say that Swing Vote director Joshua Michael Stern will take the helm with a script by Matt Whiteley.
